I am driven by the unmistakable purpose of striving to reach a
greater level of progress for myself and our world. But what is
this exactly? What does this mean, to reach a greater level of
progress for myself and the world I live in, that we all share?
Progress means to move forward and make advancements in a certain
area. Progress can be made in any area so it is important that
I’m clear in advocating positive progress.
Throughout all of human history people, of all ethnic and religious
background have created and built things for the betterment of
humanity as a whole. No matter if the invention was spun silk, the
discovery of penicillin, the many uses of the peanut or the
creation of democratic governance; no matter what was or where it
was created, everything is a benefit to mankind everywhere. And
with each generation, new challenges as well as new opportunities
come along with them. And it is our response to such challenges and
opportunities that will determine the type of world our families
will be left with. We all are blessed to have incredible talents
that are able to stir emotion, create gifts, solve problems and
bring about happiness for ourselves and our families. The biggest
problem that we have in our society is that far too many of us do
not believe that we have the ability to overcome our problems or
that they deserve to even be happy. But the fact remains that we
can and we will overcome and we most certainly deserve to be happy.
I’m here to tell you today that the old way of
thinking needs to be thrown out. We need a paradigm shift all over
the world and it starts today. Brothers and sisters its time It
time for fathers to start acting like one and take care of their
children so that they don’t have to re live the
hardships that so many before them have had to endure. Its time Its
time for mothers to teach their daughters to be real women that
care for themselves and their families and to pursue their dreams
no matter what any man might tell them they can or cannot be or
what they can or cannot do. It’s time
It’s time for us all to reach out to our young
people and help them leap over the hurdles of academia so that they
can graduate and go on to do great things in our society and take
humankind to the next level. Its time It’s for
us to lend a hand and do something to free the 27 million slaves
that are trapped in bondage today in 2008. It’s
time It’s time for us to get our acts together
and take care of and lead our families into the prosperous future
