In 1814 she was taken to... (continue reading)

Watching as he took the holder off his shoulder
Fire in his eyes, hands getting bolder
Quiet, quiet

Vote '08

In the mist of the political paparazzi, you are urged to exercise your right to vote. We must not take for granted that the African-American right to vote in our democracy was (and still is) a long hard, bitter and bloody fight we won.

Hence, you should:

Vote! - It's your democratic right, no matter who you vote for
Vote your conscience! – Your choice, your decision

Yes, We Can? A Day That Will Go Down In History

Today is an important day in history. Senator Barak Obama became the first African American to lead a Major Party Ticket in the race for the President of the United States.

This in and of itself is a moment to really take in and just appreciate. I am proud for all those young men and women of color who have a genuine role model to look up to and for the older men and women of color who lived long enough to see this day come to fruition.

It really is only six months from now where, what so many people have considered "the impossible," could actually become possible. America, are you ready? I mean, really and seriously ready? Read More from
