My name is Mike Alexander im a life long resident of Illinois, born and raised in Peoria home town of the late great Richard Pryor. I have been active in community events most of my life, worked as a volunteer in the Taft Homes Housing Projects from time to time. Im well aware of the needs of our youth in todays society, i visit many homes of at risk children with no regard for my own safety our children will stay in a world of trouble if we as adults dont stand in the gap. Im currently working at Counseling & Family Service as a family resource worker. My responsibility is dealing with the real youth at risk after school and summer program. Dealing with behavior, making sure the children complete and turn in home assignments, teaching social skills and going out on outings with the children.They also engage in computer activities, visit the local library, 4-H and create arts and crafts by keeping them busy, hopefully that can play a part in saving them from the violence that hangs over our cities and communities...I also put together a nation wide tour to go into the schools , youth centers, youth correctional centers, boys & girls clubs, with a power point presentation on the dangers of guns, gangs, I have actual pictures, and slides of gun shot victims to scare them straight or keep em on the right path, I call this my early intervention to a growing problem....My profile is not to hustle no one Im only here in hope of someone wanting to help me in making a change for real.. , I grew up in an environment where guns were prevlent, so I am no stranger to the up and coming faces of gang recruites so beleive it or not good kids can turn bad...so again early intervention can save our kids ... get at me MYSPACE.COM/SPEAKINLIFE for more info I have posted a couple of videos, one of myself speaking to the young people at my nephews funeral ........and the other is the Mike Alexander speaks life tour all up in their faces rebuking vilolence at the same time lovin on them and keepin it real with them ...so 4 real get at me....DONT FORGET TO CLICK ON THE VIDEOS @ TOP OF MY PROFILE
