personal message

"ss6496" means Super Sport Impala (Impala SS) 1964 (64) and 1996 (96). Which are considered by some to be the best years of Chevrolet Impalas produced. I've owned both years. I'm currently building/restoring a 1964 Impala Super Sport. These are my favorite cars. So, that's what my BlackPlanet.com screen name means.

My real name is Tyrone, but my family and friends call me T.J.. I'm 33 years old and from Champaign, Illinois. I'm recently divorced after 13 years of marriage. This marriage produced one child (a son) that I now have custody of. I'm a graduate of Universal Technical Institute in Glendale Heights, Illinois.

My interest are my family, cars, music and finding true love and happiness. I'm not too set in my ways. There's always room for improvment, you know? I'm always open to try something new. Right now, I'm doing my best to establish a better relationship with God.

I've been on and off BlackPlanet.com for several years under several different screen names. In the past, I was here for egotistical and juvenile reasons. And it cost me dearly. But now, I'm wiser and have somewhat of a purpose for being here. Looking to meet new and interesting people that are about something.

Don't be so quick to judge a book by it's cover. Meaning, because my pictures show me in Chuck Taylors, Dickies and a t-shirt doesn't mean I'm a gang-banger or thug. That's what I'm most comfortable wearing. That also doesn't mean I don't own or wear a suit, but I'm being me. If I cannot be me, then who can I be? So, don't judge me by my appearance. I'm articulate, educated, speak and write in complete sentences and I can read. I'm not a criminal.

Black women of BlackPlanet.com, why do you feel the need to show your precious body on BlackPlanet.com in order to get attention? I appreciate the beauty of the Black womans body because there isn't another quite like it on Earth, but I don't need to see it naked to get and keep my attention. Sisters, you are the queens of this Earth. It's obvious you've forgotten that. And you wonder why some men approach, speak and treat you in a disrespectful manner. It's because you're disrespecting yourself. Leave something for the imagination. Force us Black men to use our heads between our shoulders instead of the one between our legs when approaching you. You have the power to change this.

On the other hand though, why do some of you say you desire a good man, but when you have one coming at you, you reject him? Meaning, some of you have standards that are ridicously high. What happened to wanting a Black man that loved and respected you, holds a job, fears God and has goals? Some of you desire a Denzel Washington or Taye Diggs. Be realistic. As long as a man loves you for you, respect you and fears God, that's all you really need. Asking for more is just being greedy.

Where did all these "femmes", "studs" or lesbians come from? I'm constantly surprised at how many Black women here are lesbians. If that's your preference or what you are, cool. But at least cover yourself. Stop disrespecting yourself.

Married women. You really shouldn't be here posting pictures of yourself. Saying you're here looking to make new friends. You and I both know better. Instead of being here (BlackPlanet.com) looking to make new friends, you should get reaquanted with the friend you're married to. When you're married, your husband should be all the family and friend you need. So, get off of here and spend time getting to know your husband better and making your marriage and family stronger. Because being here (BlackPlanet.com) is only going to tear it apart. I know because I'm speaking from personal experience.

Where are the real Black women? Where are the women that want a real, hard-working, God fearing, honest and loyal Black man? This past year alone I've come across women that talked a good game and say what they want in a man. When I've stepped up to the challenge, they switch up. What's that all about?! On the real, if you're a Black woman that is confused or still have emotional ties to your ex-boyfriend or husband please don't waste my time by even attempting to get to know me. I'm too old and don't have time for those types of games.

With all that said, feel free to send me a note if you want to know me.

Black Women, Help Me Out

Posted

Where has the love between a Black man and Black woman gone? Why is it so hard for us (Black man & woman) to get/stay together? I've sent hundreds (maybe thousands) of notes to Black women here on BP with little or no reply. These women claim to want a good man, but when I come at them I'm avoided like the plague. Why is that? Is it that I'm not over 6ft. tall? Is it that I don't have a six-figure income? Is it that I don't drive a Mercedes-Benz? Is it that I don't wear Armani suits? Is it that...
