Well...I'm an urban dweller in Cincinnati. I live Downtown and work Downtown. I love life. Most people think I am pretty funny. I don't take everything too seriously. I've learned to be able to laugh at myself sometimes. I'm very passionate about the things I care about. I don't have any children. Not sure if they are for me. Some of the first things people notice about me are my smile, my hair, my voice or my complexion. I can't say that I blame them (smile) Just like you, I am the sum of many parts. I'm fun. I'm a bit of an intellectual. I'm a hard worker. I'm dedicated. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I can almost guarantee I'm different from almost any woman you've ever met (in a good way)
A lot of guys ask me what do I like and what do I dislike. So, I thought I'd try to make it somewhat easier. But there's more that I like and don't like. If you don't see something, just ask. I'm pretty cool and approachable. I'll let you know...
LIKES are: basketball, kicking it with my friends and family, laughing, people who see people for who they are; no more. no less. People who understand that the physical only takes you so far. Chocolate. Good Hugs. Sweet kisses. Respect. Martin (I'm going to love that show forever)
DISLIKES: Judgmental people, people who aren't funny, but think they are. Dishonesty. People who try to hurt people intentionally either through words or actions. Pessimistic people. Onions. People who think they are more important than others. Holy rollers. People who pick and choose things out of the bible to match whatever is convenient for them. Religion. Disrespectful Hip-Hop. People who don't understand that we have a responsibility to each other. Obnoxious personalities. Mens suits that aren't white, cream, beige, brown, black or navy blue. (bruhs coming in the church or the club looking like a bag of skittles)
I want to start off by saying that you shouldn`t misrepresent yourself in any way, shape or form on BlackPlanet or any where else. Be who you are. Do you. No one is perfect.
YOU AIN`T GOT TO LIE TO KICK IT!!!!
Peace and Blessings to all. Welcome to my portion of the planet. No doubt we are the most beautiful people on earth. It`s only right that we have our own Planet. (smile) Thank you to everyone who has shown me love since I have been on BP.
QUICK SHOUT-OUT TO CINCINNATI AND ATLANTA. I AM FROM THE `NATI BORN AND RAISED. I SPENT FOUR WONDERFUL SOUL SEARCHING YEARS IN THE ATL. ATLANTA EMBRACED ME AND I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL.
A little about me: I am one of the coolest sistas you will EVER meet-NO DOUBT!
I have a thing for shoes-I can`t explain it!
I appreciate the small things in life-Those are the things that will carry you through hard times.
Not to digress from all of this positivity, but can I just get something off of my chest? Can I vent just for a second? I noticed that a lot of people describe themselves as being "educated" on their BP pages. What exactly does that mean? Educated about what? Educated by whom? I don`t know. I was just wondering. If anyone could shed some light on that for me, I would be so very grateful. I`m not being facetious. I really want to know what that means. So if you can help me with that, holla at your girl.
A few words to the wise:
I must say that I believe and trust in God with all of my heart, but I am not much into religion. It`s important for me to be Spiritual. There is a HUGE difference in the two. I just have problems with people who walk over a homeless person to walk into the church. I think if I see the God in You and You see the God in Me, everything will take care of itself, ya know? No disrespect to anyone and their belief system.
In my 29 years, I`ve noticed that everyone likes to look at rainbows and admire their beauty. Sometimes, what gets lost is that there first has to be rain.
In life all of us are either coming out of a storm, in the middle of a storm, or we are heading into a storm. Just take time out to recognize that storm and try to understand where you are in life in respect to this storm and what you have gained from going through any storms life brings us. Sometimes we are so hurt that we don`t understand that there are things that we have to go through to be better people. Believe me, I know!
And to all the brothas that dogged me,played me, or broke my heart. I want to thank you.
***"Some *iggas recognized the Light, but couldn`t handle the glare."-Common.***
To all mah brothas and sistas: Stay humble. Humility is vastly underrated. If you look good, you don`t have to tell everyone, they`ll see it. If you are smart, you don`t have to show everyone, it`ll be apparent. And so forth and so on, ya dig?
ALSO, I WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO KAMERON CORVET FOR CREATING A WONDERFUL COLLECTION OF SONGS ENTITLED "SAYINGTHINGS." KAM, I AM SO VERY PROUD OF YOU, BOTH AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND AS A MUSICIAN. YOU`VE CREATED A WONDERFUL PIECE OF ART FROM BEGINNING TO END
My favorite artists are Common, Erykah Badu, Carl Thomas ,Miles Davis, Nas and Kameron Corvet. I have a serious love jones for Marvin Gaye. But I will listen to anything that sounds good.
Am I the only one who thought Zhane` was the Shiznit!!! I miss dem gurls.
Their CD`s still get mass burn in mah crib/car!
I love Hip-Hop. I will love it until the day I die. But it`s starting to get crazy. Why are women constantly being disrespected? If someone has wronged you individually, she might be a b#@ch. But you can`t come upto a woman whom you just met and say "What it is, Ho?". Now c`mon. This is getting riduculous.
In my CD changer right now are:
Jonz nka Kameron Corvet-sayingthings
Common-Like Water for Chocolate and Resurrection
JohnColtrane-Love Supreme
T.I.-I`m Serious and Trap Muzik (Whatchu know about that?)
Bill Withers-Best of Bill Withers
Jay-Z- Reasonable Doubt and In My Lifetime (That was when Jigga really spit that fire)
Miles Davis-Kind of Blue
Vivian Green-Love Story
Nas-Illmatic
Lenny Kravitz-Greatest Hits
Alanis Morrisette-Jagged Little Pill
Before I go, a lot of sistas have been complimenting me and asking me about my hair. I go to THE best stylist in Cincinnati. Her name is Regina. She is the owner of Monet` Hair Gallery in College Hill. She is a BEAST. (513) 541-1700 Hit her up.
