personal messageMyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celeb - Collage - Morph Hello my Beautiful People! How y'all feeling out there? Real and real good I hope. Let's all be true and real to each other. Never forget where you came from. Keep it real and true to yourself as well as others. Never forget who helped you out along the way and keep an eye out for those you have the power to help. Say hello to little man or woman sweeping in the hallways just as you would the big executive sitting behind the huge desk. BP.... I have been a member for quite a while now. I must say, I've mostly enjoyed my experience here in orbit. I've met some awesome people, online and off and for that I am truly grateful and humbled. I believe BP to be an awesome tool in which to connect with others all across the nation on a variety of different issues. It's also a marketing tool. And in some cases, a romance tool:-). I am open to conversing with ALL. I hold no prejudices against anyone. Talking to people who are not like you is how you learn about others. Don't be so quick to shut someone out or away because they don't sound like you, okay? Keep an open mind. You'll be surprised. My main objective for being a part of BP is.......all of you. Yes indeed. I would connect with you all if I could...lol....I just love getting a feel for different people. I am very concerned with the many issues our people face as a community. I have a passion for the youth, and getting them guided in the right direction, getting them to realize their growth and potential and getting them to look ahead to the bigger picture. I do have an issue with deragatory music, music that insults us as a people especially when the insults are coming from..........us. Something is not right with that. We have to realize that many of the things we do have a huge impact on our young and impressionable youth and we have to work our butts off to combat the negative pictures that America paints of us, but why oh why do we have to fight each other to combat the negative pictures we paint of ourselves? Hmmm.....anyway.....
I love deep, rich poetry. Something that touches the soul, reaches in and speaks to it, caresses it, sings to it, makes it do jumping jacks......you get my point. A very strong reaction. Do I write? I get that question. Sometimes, but I'm mostly a reader, though many writers/readers will tell you the two go hand in hand.....lol. Anyway, if you know you've got some of that good ole poetry on your page or you know where I can find some, send ya girl an invite okay?....Yes indeed..... I am not using BP as a dating tool, however that does not mean I am not open to conversing with anyone. So please, sistahs and brothas, heck, everyone, hit me up. I am a very open-minded person. I have a mad, crazy sense of humor with some sarcasm thrown up all in there. Yes indeed......lol Back by popular demand! Tee'sGetUs2GetherTip4theDay... ..okay, so I'm lying, but they're back anyway.....lol Tee'sGetUs2GetherTip4theDay: When you see or hear someone doing something just wrong, sometimes, we've got to stand up for what isÃ(2;â€&sca ron;ÂÂ&nbs p;right. Example, my friend has a very outspoken mom. They were in the store shopping one day and they heard this lady curse her son out. Her words went something like this: "Bring yo lil black %#&@$! back here!" and a few other choice words. My friend's mom stopped in her tracks, went to the young lady and said, "Baby, you shouldn't talk to that baby like that!Ã(2;â€& scaron;ÂÂ& nbsp;Don't make him think it's bad to be black! If a white person had called him out like you would be mad! Watch what you say to these younguns!" Or something to that effect. Now, I realize sometimes we have to be weary about saying certain things to certain people, but sometimes we've got to take on that mentality of it taking a village to raise a child. My friend's mom had a point. Don't talk to your children like that and if you hear somebody else talking to their child like that, stand up for that poor child. Older people seem to get away with it more than the younger people, I know, but the worst that can happen is you being told to mind your own damn business!....Stand up for our children. Let them know it is beautiful to be black and it's okay to make a mistake. And not only children, stand up for each other! Tee'sGetUs2GetherTip4theDay: See how long you can go without calling someone a "n!gga" or a "wh0re" or a "b!tch" or any deragatory name. Ladies and gentlemen, anger is something powerful is it not? One of the first things we like to when arguing is calling some very degrading names of the other person. The ole saying, "Sticks and stones....." is so not true. Words do hurt and sometimes the effects are of the such that leaves us fumbling. Words are powerful, they strike harder than the physical blows at times and they continue to ring in our ears for a long time. The effects of words works kinda like the effects of slavery. Though it's over said and done (old-style slavery anyway), we are still suffering from the effects. You can tear me down emotionally and psychologically with your words. Long after you are gone, I'll still remember, and wonder. Now, this does not apply to every situation. Road rage for instance. I can get called a "b!tch" and not blink an eye because that person doesn't know me. It's different if I care about you and care what you think. So, my people, just be careful what you say. There is always a way to articulate what you'd like to say without causing unnecessary harm and by going this route we can only enhance or build harmony. I am also on the Yahoo messenger: smoothsoulsistah@yahoo.com......
Looking forward to sharing some meaningful, crazy, fun conversations with you guys! Hugs and luv to all

I shake my head daily with each new "issue" our political government faces. Never have I seen the government itself so divided, so stubbornly aggressive, so after their own heart. Many of our elected officials seems to have forgotten that this is a government for the people, by the people. This selfishn behavior they are displaying is embarassing and upsetting. It's constant. Debt ceiling debate. Never should we as a country come to such a point.... (continue reading) I can pull my hair out!!!Posted
Oh manh! I am soooo frustrated! This is getting on my nerves! I am not good at this! *sigh*.....I guess I need to calm down and try to do something productive....Well, hell, I might as well go to sleep! LOL!
Hey family. A few months ago there was the senseless murder of a young man named Derrion Albert. As people reflected and tried to understand such a tragedy, many potential reasons were tossed out. Lack of male role model/father, poor parenting, etc. Indeed, as we've been examining reasons for youth violence for years, these variables have come up time and time again. I know I am late with this post, but better late than never and I hope that some of you may have already seen what I hope to be... (continue reading) 2 truths and a lie
