A native to California, DeTea (Devon Terrell) has stepped on the scene to show the music world just exactly "what the game's been missing". With a smooth yet edgy style, DeTea has risen from the mean streets of South Central to give listeners a glimpse into the mind of a music mogul. Growing up in a world consisting of gun play, sex, drugs, violence, and gangs, DeTea rose from the depths of society to show listeners that there is a way out. At a young age, DeTea experienced hardships when his mother, nearly lying on her death bed, left him in a position where sacrifice and hustle became a first priority. With his father being killed as a result of gang violence when he was just a child, this rap star was determined to prove the world wrong and to not become a statistic. After playing basketball in high school and attending Clark Atlanta University to major in business, DeTea was forced to return to South Central when his mother suffered a stroke. When returning home, rapper DeTea, having had a talent to rap since the age of 12, decided to share his story with the world. While looking up to rap legends such as Jay Z, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and many other hip hop icons, DeTea has embraced hip hop and prepared listeners for an impact like no other. This hip hop bad boy packs versatility and demonstrates what it really means to be a lyricist in the music game.
