Hurricanes have effected many of us. Fortunately for me I live high enough that flooding is not an issue, but just blocks away homes were under water a few feet into their first floor level. We lost electricity for several hours and some waited days for power to be restored. We are still waiting for running water which has been off 3 days now. It is the closest I've ever been to a natural disaster. The National Guard is here to assist wherever they can and neighbors are helping neighbors.

I know I'm blessed to have lost nothing more than the convenience of going a short time without power and running water. God bless those who have lost so much more.

I appreciate each kind note, invitation, and comment that has been sent my way. Many of you have complimented me on my "natural beauty" and I would like to address that topic. For me natural beauty means that I allow the beauty that the creator has blessed me with shine through. I do not cover up the blessings but enhance them where I can. I believe that part of the natural beauty of a woman is her attitude. One of patience, kindness, optimistic support, graciousness and gracefulness, charm and intelligence. When a woman allows the light of truth and acceptance to flow through her there is no way to stop it from touching others. That is what I wish to share with all that cross my path, whether it be here or in person, I desire each and every one of you to sense the "natural beauty" that exists not only in me but in yourself as well.

I am a person with honest motives...to love and be loved. I strive for continued self-growth and improvement as I accept my areas of imperfection. I acknowledge and admire the subtle strength of a man and exalt him for it. I have a strong heart and mind that knows how to love and how to learn. I understand what I don't want in life and continue to walk towards that which I do want. I am lovable, affectionate, open-minded and accepting. A woman can be versatile ...that's why I love being a woman.

A bit of the inside scoop. I am the classic case ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan story. I had years to develop my mind and my inner being before the looks came along (wink). So I know who I am inside and out. Many visitors have told me that I was NEVER ugly and I thank you all for your words of encouragement. In actuality, I agree, I was never ugly, but the story of the Ugly Duckling is a story of the perceptions of the society in which we live.
