Now, I am going to be a little more personal than other artists are and not speak to you in the third person mode. I am orginally from Birmingham, AL and caught the bug to sing when I was 8 years old. All my life I have heard some excellent singers in my family and on the radio, and that is what inspired me to pursue singing. Eventhough singing was not my first choice of profession, it has become my last choice. My career began actually when I really didn't know it. I started singing in church and from there I began learning how to play different instruments. Not understanding that God was directing to my path of fate, I began learning how to play the clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, and piano. After all the lessons, my voice would be my true instrument. Just like every boy growing up, I played football and wanted to become a professional football player. Well, as you can see, I am not a professional football player but I am a R&B singer. I began taking God's gift and putting it to work. Then I learned that God gave me another gift and that was the gift of writing. I begin writing songs and poetry in my early 20s. Since that time I have written over 200 songs and 20 poems. I describe my style as R&B with a jazz fusion. You can hear a lot of my influences in my music. From Motown to the Philly style like the O'Jays, Patti Labelle and the Staples singers and from Gospel to Down Home Blues. I really feel that R&B has lost its way and I hope my style bring back that feeling we all got when we heard R&B and Soul music.
I am blessed to have joined the family of Ryze Entertainment after numerous of major players tried. Ryze Entertainment is allowing me to be and stay creative and not fall in the pit of commercialize music. Now my album, "Finally" was scheduled to be released a few years ago but due to health reasons, the company and myself decided to wait until I was able to promote the cd with no hang ups. Now, I am happy to say, I will be releasing my album January 17,2011. Some of you have heard my single, "Talkin Dirty". The new single, "I'm Sorry" has been release and I know you are going to love it. I am excited and I know you are going to like what you hear. As a native of Alabama, I am about to bring some heat!!! So get ready to enjoy some great music and I will "See you on top!!!"
Hello everyone, Last week a terrible storm ripped through my old neighborhood in Birmingham, AL. Most of my friends and family lost EVERYTHING. The media doesn't show the true devastation of this storm.
