Just gonna dive right in.....

I am looking for real things in life.  No BS, no nonsense, no booty calls, not looking to be some married guy's thing on the side....NONE OF THAT.  If you are looking for honest, sincere, lasting friendship....romantic or otherwise, let me know.

I am a single mom of two absolutely beautiful girls who are the center of my world. They have brought a great deal of joy to my life and when they were born, I knew what my purpose was on earth. I like for life to be simple (...as simple as life CAN be) and am not terribly focused on material things. In fact I think we often focus TOO much on "stuff" and need to focus our energy in more positive directions.  If you agree and wanna talk, hit me up. I'd love to hear from you :)

If you go to my links.....there is a youtube link to a song that makes me think of my daughters…..despite the inappropriate title….this is the “clean version” of the song.....but it sums up how I feel about everyone.....but ESPECIALLY those two most perfect gifts from God to me. I thank him every day for them!

25 Things to Know about me:

1. I am very passionate about the world's ills. I'm determined that in my lifetime I will do whatever I can to solve at least my own little corner of the world hunger problem even if I have to just invite them over for dinner every day. :) You have to start somewhere!

2. I believe that if everyone that was able helped one person who wasn't on a consistent basis, the world would be a completely different place. It would no longer be up to "just one person" to solve the world's problems AND the 'able' ones would only have to worry about one person...not the world.....but that's just me....

3. I am blessed to have had 3 living grandparents until my mid to late 30's. I was given one of God's greatest gifts....their love and wisdom, especially toward the end of their lives when I was fortunate enough to assist in their care which allowed me to really, really KNOW them. I will always be grateful for that.

4. I've learned that "old" is relative and changes it's meaning every year...lol

5. Children are another of God's greatest gifts...and I am eternally grateful to him for mine...EVEN as my oldest enters her teenage years and THERE ARE DAYS...........

6. I love to be surrounded by loved ones (family or friends)...doesn't matter why we are together....just that we are and we are enjoying one another

7. It amazes me how a person who is otherwise intelligent can just suddenly become a complete goof in the presence children. They keep us young....I really believe that.

8. While they keep us young....the powers of nature also allow them to make us get old REALLY FAST once they hit puberty....how is that????????

9. I am also grateful that my children got to know and will remember their great-grandparents.

10. I love good ol' fashioned butter pecan ice cream, BUT on a summer day there is nothing like taking my kids down to Freeze King and getting us each a sugar cone (and sprinkles on theirs) and then watching them eat it and make a big ol' mess with it.

11. I like to play in the rain with my kids.....while the neighbors are rushing their kids in out of the rain, I'm saying "Cool!! It's raining!!! Let go play in it!!!" It's only water right???? And there's nothing quite like splashing in the puddles on a summer day without a care in the world. I gotta say! Of course...my oldest is to the age where she just looks at me like I've sprouted 10 heads...but I don't care about that too much.

12. I like ALL kinds of music....don't like to say "that's country so I can't like it"....I'd rather just listen to the song and decide for myself rather than put myself in "boxes". Don't see the point in limiting my possibilities!

13. I'm glad that my family is nearby. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have them to help me (and vice versa)....especially now that I'm a single parent. Family is a blessing!

14. I was married for 12 years, but seperated in 11/2007. When the divorce is final (hopefully soon), I'm going to have a party. Is that mean? When I get married again though...it will be for keeps!

15. Since my seperation, I feel like God has given me a new set of wings (and my oldest daughter is wondering where her old hag mom is and who this person is who can ACTUALLY be cool....SOMETIMES.)

16. I LOVE tickling my 6 year old. It's always funny to me how they pretend not to liike it, but when you stop they do everything they can to make you do it again! Good stuff!!!

17. I do NOT like scary movies....AT ALL

18. I do NOT miss the Reggae Wine Festival at Linganore Winecellars in July....EVER. I plan to be there MONTHS ahead and I wouldn't even care if it was raining! It's my favorite "mommy time" thing about summer.

19. I used to dance....from the time that I was a little, little girl. Ballet, tap, jazz, and modern....AND it was my minor in college. I only quit when I was in my early 20's because my ankles got bad and I have missed it ever since.

20. I went for years (in excess of a DECADE) without even OWNING a coffee-maker....YES...IT'S TRUE!

21. I love to laugh...and I laugh about everything. Everyone needs to know how to laugh at themselves. Nothing in life is that serious!

22. I know that every day is a gift that I cherish.

23. I am glad that my oldest daughter has found something that makes her happy - BASKETBALL...and she's good at it. I'm proud of her.

24. My youngest daughter received an award in pre-school for "acceptance" because she accepts everyone as her friend no matter what. I'm proud that she is that way and hope that she never stops doing it!

25. I'm glad that in my age and wisdom (ha ha!!!) I have learned how to truly forgive. I've found that makes me a much happier person!
