Whats up BP...... Check out my group.....BLACKS AGAINST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY..... I'm always looking for insightful debates. If You're Atheist, I Respect Your Ways And Just Disregard The Message. Before I Go On About Myself...I Received This Email From A Very Special Person In My Life And IT Made Me Think Long And Hard.....Take Time To Read This: "An African proverb states, 'Before you get married, keep both eyes open, and after you marry, close one eye.' Before you get involved and make a commitment to someone, don't let lust, desperation, immaturity, ignorance, pressure from others or a low self-esteem make you blind to warning signs. Keep your eyes open, and don't fool yourself that you can change someone or that what you see as faults aren't really important. Once you decide to commit to someone, over time their flaws, vulnerabilities, pet peeves, and differences will become more obvious. If you love your mate and want the relationship to grow and evolve, you've got to learn to close one eye and not let every little thing bother you. You and your mate have many different expectations, emotional needs, values, dreams, weaknesses, and strengths. You are two unique individuals who have decided to share a life together. Neither of you are perfect, but are you perfect for each other? Do you bring out the best of each other? Do you compliment and compromise with each other, or do you compete, compare, and control? What do you bring to the relationship? Do you bring past relationships, past hurt, past mistrust, past pain? You can't take someone to the altar to alter him or her. You can't make someone love you or make someone stay. If you develop self-esteem, spiritual discernment, and 'a life', you won't find yourself making someone else responsible for your happiness or responsible for your pain. Manipulation, control, jealousy, neediness, and selfishness are not the ingredients of a thriving, healthy, loving and lasting relationship. Seeking status, sex, wealth, and security are the wrong reasons to be in a relationship. What keeps a relationship strong? Communication, intimacy, trust, a sense of humor, sharing household tasks, some getaway time without business or children and daily exchanges (a meal, a shared activity, a hug, a call, a touch, a note). Leave a nice message on their voicemail or send a nice email. Sharing common goals and interests. Growth is important. Grow together, not away from each other, giving each other space to grow without feeling insecure. Allow your mate to have outside interests. You can't always be together. Give each other a sense of belonging and assurances of commitment. Don't try to control one another. Learn each other's family situation. Respect his or her parents regardless. Don't put pressure on each other for material goods. Remember for richer or for poorer. If these qualities are missing, the relationship will erode as resentment, withdrawal, abuse, neglect, dishonesty, and pain replaces the passion. Think on that..." Now this is an interesting dialog from a good person in whom I respect. Now we disagree politically but just read for yourself...I will display the entire exchange. That's because of the fact they experienced it. We're, the younger generation, are just mere sponges absorbing out past from the older ones. But the difference is acceptance. When it comes to that particular variable, it's a crushing yet graceful difference. For example, integration now compared to some 40 to 60 years ago is leading the way in the progression within this ideal of understanding...But look at it back in the days..the ideal of acceptance, for example, was that we were inferior striving to change that. That was noted on both sides....To be honest with you, I have no racial barrier...I hate that we have deviated away from God only for selfish gain. Concerning Rev Wright, I have to be honest and say that what he said didn't upset me as much as that it was on tape and got on the air ways and played over and over and distorted! I lend helping hands but never give hand outs. I am a puppet for God's work. I sound my trumpet in honor of Him because he loves me and guides me even through the darkness. I default to growth and development. I am patient beyond my understanding.... and I cherish intellect. There's Absolutely Nothing Wrong With Black Women Getting Stronger, But It's The Men I Have A Problem With. I Do LOVE ME A STRONG BLACK WOMAN..... ( One Who Thinks For Herself ) 3) People Meet And Early Within The Relationship, They Have Sex..... Now They're In Love!! WOW! How Could You Love Someone You Barely Know? 4) People Tend To Search For Themselves In Others. 5) It's Wrong For A Black Person To Be Anything But A Democrat..... My Feeling Towards That Is, Democrats Destroy They Essence Of This Country. 6) Kids Are Very Beautiful, And I Thank God For A Woman's Ability To Create....
