Spawning from a family of musicians and singers, his musical interest began very early in life. His music is described by some as an eclectic mix of R&B, Gospel and Pop-Funk with all the elements of Jazz to smooth it out. His debut EP is slated to release in the fall of this year. The CD will contain five original compositions and one bonus track. The layout of the music covers an array of textures stylistically speaking. Kicking off this project is a funky yet laid-back tune with a catchy hook appropriately entitled "Stretch". According to the artist, the name of this tune was the result of a time crunch in order to meet a studio deadline. Next, is a smooth radio-friendly tune with a heavy west coast vibe entitled "Pacific Rain" followed by an inspirational song entitled "Perfect Peace." "This song really wrote itself. After the melody came, I just let the piano play me," the self-taught pianist was quoted. This song sets the stage perfectly for another original ballad eloquently named "Until We Meet Again", which encompasses the freedom of expression found in Jazz while melodically telling a love tale. Rounding out this charming disc is a Neo-Soul filler called "Hot Sauce" which shows the late bloomer's modern R&B side. There is a bonus track, which the artist is keeping secret until the release; disclosing that it has heavy hip-hop elements but traces his roots to gospel. The musicians featured on this release are some of the best the Nashville area has to offer. Albeit, none are limited to the area as they have all traveled the world with some of the biggest names known in today's music business. Starting from the ground up, Nashville based drummer Johnathon "Smoke" Lucas is quickly becoming a local favorite on the scene. His skill spans genres ranging from Gospel, R&B, Country, and now Smooth Jazz. Holding the groove on bass is none other than Tyronn's own brother, Walter 'Hinkie" Hamilton. The two join forces to create the melody for the sultry aforementioned tune "Until We Meet Again". Nick Smith, a Mississippi to Nashville transplant who is a force to be reckoned with, provides some guitar work. Dave Spak who plays with many succsessful Country and R&B acts provided percussion work. Khyree Northcross is featured on Sax throughout the record. His soulful playing illuminates every element of his Memphis heritage and provides a perfect balance to the unpredictable keystrokes of Tyronn's piano prowess. Bringing additional keyboard work to the project is Tyronn's other brother, Tim Hamilton, who the artist credits along with dad, Walter Sr., for setting his course as a musician. Other musicians are not yet to be mentioned, as the project is not yet completed. A schedule of current gigs, pictures and some video footage can be found online at www.myspace.com/tyronnhamilton Tyronn's open-minded nature has allowed him to travel the country playing with many artists throughout his career, including some impromptu performances, with artists such as R&B's Montel Jordan; Gospel's Montrel Darrett; Country's Jamie Slocumb, Clay Walker and Big Kenny from Big and Rich; American Idol Star's Kimberly Locke and Corey Clark; and Jazz's Bob Mintzer to name a few. He has also made many friends and partners along the way that help to further his vision to share his gifts and talent with the world. A lot has been said about this artist and the anticipation of this "long time coming" project. One close friend and music industry veteran, Michelle Kerwin has been quoted as saying, "I have been in the music business for over 20 years, not only as a singer in recording sessions or in the band on tour but also as a recording studio owner and manager. I have met many talented people in this business, but there are not that many that I could say were "Top Notch" and someone that I would recommend to others. Tyronn Hamilton is one of those rare talents. Not only is Tyronn an extremely talented and very proficient musician but he is also a great person to be around." friends (166)favorite pages
