THE TRUE MEAN STREETS WAS HERE BEFORE US AND WILL ALWAYS BE A PART OF OUR SOCIETY..JUST BE PREPARED AND AWARE ..,ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AT ANY GIVEN TIME ...SO WITH THAT BEEN SAID..,.IF YOU'RE EVEN THINKING ABOUT CHOOSING...[THE LIFE OF A HUSTLER]... STOP NOW , WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD!! TAKE MY ADVICE YOUNGSTERS,..IF YOU GOT A FAMILY THAT LOVES YOU AND SUPPORT YOU..,STAY WITH THEM,. THERE'S NOTHING GLAMOUROUS ABOUT RUNNING THE STREETS!! I'VE LOST MANY OF FRIENDS, COUNTLESS COUSINS AND MANY ATTEMPTS ON MY LIFE. I CONSIDER MYSELF BLESSED TO STILL BE HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE EVILNESS THAT LURKS OUR INNER CITY STREETS...IT'S YOUR CHOICE..DON'T SAY I DID'NT WARN YOU!!

Napoleon is the name I used in the ghetto & I was a pimp.This is my story,told without bitterness and no pretense at moralizing...the smells,the sounds,the fears,the petty triumps in the world of the pimp.No other one comes anywhere near me in its description of the raw, brutal reality of the jungle that lurks beneath the surface of every city.Nobody but a pimp could tell this story and no one has...until Napoleon .I was young ,ambitious and blessed with superior IQ. I spent twenty-five years of my life in Hell.Other pimps died in prison,or in insane asylums,or were shot down in the street.But Napoleon escaped death and the drug habit to live in the square world and write...about my people and life.
Now with that short introduction out the way...I feel that it`s my duty to use my page as a Street-Bible to
help my brothers & sisters in any way that they choose to live life-

* DIRTY MONEY*

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Money laudering is the act of taking funds that you`ve made illegally and trying to make it appear legitamate.Money laundering is a crime that is committed in association with other crimes in order to hide or clean up illegal money.Comitting the act of laundering money is easier then you think!

*ACTS THAT COULD BE CONSIDERED MONEY LAUNDERING.*

1.Putting a car in your name for a friend who gets their money illegally.

2.Taking and using money from an individual that makes their money illegally can be considered moneylaundering.

3.Writing someone a check and then taking the cash from them can be considered money laundering.

4.Starting a business with funds made illegally,(even if it isn`t you that is conducting the illegal activity) can be considered money laundering.Any assets acquired with the foundation of illegal money can be seized by the government.

5.Whether or not you`ll be prosecuted for these things is entirely up to the government.However,if the government has a particular "hard on" for the individual whom is allegedly comitting the crime,you could be arrested and prosecuted just to put pressure on them to cooperate.Once you`re arrested,you`ll have to defend yourself.A good lawyer can cost from $25.000 to $100.000.The average person just doesn`t have this kind of money so they`ll be subject to whatever plea bargin or offer the government makes them.

[THE $10.000 DOLLARS FACTOR]

Most people know that if they deposit $10.000 or more in the bank,there is a form(CTR-currency transaction report)that must be filled out and submitted to the IRS.To avoid this,they break up their deposits.THIS IS CALLED "STRUCTURING" AND IT IS ILLEGAL.

[THE $2000.00 DOLLARS FACTOR]

Places like Western Union,the Post Office,Banks etc. are also required to submit SAR`s-Supicious Activity Reports for amounts of transactions amounting to $2000.00.What is considered suspicious activity? Basically anything the teller or clerk decides.You can probably be certain that profiling techniques are being used.
Western Union also reports transactions at multiple locations.So you aren`t doing anything slick by going to 5 different Western Union locations sending $2,000 from each one.Someone in the back office of Western Union is tallying all of of your transactions and reporting you!And yes,this means you can`t RECIEVE more then $10,000 without being reported.It is also a safe bet to assume that if you RECEIVE Western Union frequently in any amount over $1000 you`re being watched.
When purchasing money orders from the Post Office,you can purchase up to $2,999 anonymously.For amounts $3,000 and over you`re required to produce ID and file out a Currency Transaction Report for the IRS.

*(Who has to report transactions over $10,000?)* *Banks,Check Cashing spots Western Union or any other money service business.U.S. Post Office,Pawn Shops,Jewelers,Lawyers,& Car Dealers.*

*Five Essentials Things To Know About A Criminal Case*
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

1.Know Your Rights
2.How To Find A Good Lawyer
3.When To Hire A Defense Investigator
4.Who to Talk To About Your Case
5.How To Help Yourself

What you do immediately after you're arrested is crucial to your ability to defend yourself against the charges on you.Here are several ideas to help you protect your constitutional rights.Knowing your rights means refusing to compromise.Police attidudes will change when you assert your rights.Television dramas often potray persons under arrest as better off if they waive their right to counsel and speak candidly with police.This is not true.Follow these rules!

1.Self-Incrimination(Miranda Warnings)
a.You have the right to remain silent.
Do not talk to police officers once you're placed under arrest.Don't try to explain your position or your side of a dispute.You can't talk your way out of an arrest.Respond to any question asked one-way and one way only: "I wish to consult with my attorney."Whether you're on the street or at the police station...refuse to speak to any law enforcement officer outside the presence of your attorney.Even if threats and physical abuse may result,don't give in.Always exercise your right to remain silent.

b.Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

This means no matter how clever you belive you are,don't dicuss anything with a police officer after you've been arrested.Never speak with law enforcement officials until after you've spoken with anattorney.Until you speak with an attorney,the only thing you should ever say is "let me speak with an attorney." You should say nothing more and nothing less. No law enforcement official is your friend or they trying to help you,so don't fall for their bull%#&@$!. Anything they can say or do on your behalf they'll be willing to do in front of your attorney.

c.You have a right to have an attorney present before,during and after questioning.

This means exercise you right to have a lawyer present when law enforcement officials want to interview you.Never speak with law enforcement on your own.

d.You have the right to have an attorney represent you,and if you cannot afford one,the court will appoint one for you.

This means,if you are HUSTLING,save your money.In most instances,you're better off with a privately retained attorney. If you can't afford one,the court will appoint you a public defender,or private attorney participating in aprogram for the appointed representation,such as the Criminal Justice Act if your case is in federal court or a parallel state law if your case is in state court.

Defense services are not cheap and you must be prepared to make a financial sacrifice to hire a private attorney.In the long run,the outcome of your criminal case is invariably better.Preparing the defense of any criminal case requires knowledge of the law,diligence in preparation and experience.You need to select the most capable attorney you can find and one you trust.The difference between conviction and acquittal.

2.Privately Retained Or Court Appointed Representation

The best way to choose privately retained counsel is through a referral.And although an attorney may come highly recommended,choose an attorney by how good he prepares a case for trial and whether or not the attorney is assessable to you.You need to make sure that the lawyer you want to hire practices Criminal Law only and in the court system you're being charged.Don't bring a state lawyer into a federal court.You need a lawyer who knows the court system you're being indicted in.Many times if you hire an attorney that is well-known in the court system you can take advantage of any favors he may have among his peers in that court system.Judges and prosecutors work more favorably with defense attorneys they deal with on a daily basis.

Don't pay an attorney a large retainer fee until you and your family are comfortable with his service and confident that he is the best person to represent you.If you later decide that he is the best person to represent you.If you later decide that this lawyer is not right for you...you'll not be able to get a refund.Make your decision wisely,and please trust the attorney that you hire,if you do not trust him with your money do not trust him with your LIFE!!

A common misconception is because of mandatory minimums and sentencing guidlines you don't need to spend a lot of money on a criminal defense attorney. In part this may seem like wise thinking in today's court system,however there are many things that a good defense attorney and criminal defense investigator can do that can lower your level under these guidlines and in turn mitigate (reduce) your sentence without snitching.But only a good lawyer and investigator will know this.

Unfortunately you do not get to choose who represents you when the court appoints you a lawyer.The court usually appoints an attorney that is over worked and under paid.There are however very good attorneys that accecpt state and federal court appointments.Remember the best lawyer that can represent you is a privately retained one.

3.Criminal Investigators are a must.
Criminal defense investigators are a very essential part of every criminal case.An investigator must be hired outside of your attorney and his fee is separate.Investigation is the key to every criminal case.LAWYERS DO NOT INVESTIGATE.The lawyer takes the valuable information that the investigator turns up in your case and puts together your defense.

Whether you plan on taking a plea agreement or you are going to fight your case and go to trial you need a defense investigator that will investigate your case.There are vital witness that need to be found and interviewed,and various records that need to be obtained right away.

4.Do not talk to anyone about your case!

If you are placed under arrest and sent to jail,do not talk to anyone.If you make a collect call from any correctional institution your conversation is being recorded.Do not call home and talk to any one about lawyer's fees.Do this face to face.Do not try to explain to anyone on the phone where you have hidden money.Do not discuss anything illegal on the phone.Also please do not talk to anyone that is involved in your case about your case,because you do not know who will turn into a cooperating witness for the goverment.(Confidential Informant.) Do not talk to another prisoner or prison guard about your case,you never know who is an informant.

5.Remember you know more about your case than anybody does.

Always help with the defense of your case.You are the best source of information for your defense team.You need to be very involved in the preparation of your case.There are things that only you know about your case,and they need to be talked about with your defense team.The direction that your case goes in depends on the information you know about the witness.Stay involved in your case!

* Differences Between Misdemeanors and Felonies*
**************************************************************

Consequences for misdemeanors and felony convictions are entirely different.A defendant must understand which crime he has been charged with in order to understand what will happen if convicted.

Generally,a misdemeanor crime is punishable by up to one year in county jail.Misdemeanor trials are held in the state's lower court,sometimes referred to as Municipal Court.(Names for these courts vary from state-to-state)Examples of misdemeanor crimes include drunk driving,disorderly conduct or shoplifting.
A felony crime is punishable by one or more in state prison or a penitentiary.Felonies begin in the state's lower court system but may move up to the state Superior Court,or higher court.(Names for these courts vary from state-to-state)Example of felony crimes include murder,rape,or armed robbery.

The misdemeanor and felony arraignment process are virtually identical to one another with one exception.In the misdemeanor arraignment process,a pre-trial in Municipal Court is the next step following arraignment.In the felony arraignment process,the next step is a pre-preliminary hearing.Once the preliminary hearing is completed,a trial date is established.(Note: Some jurisdictions do not utilize the pre-preliminary hearing step)

It is recommended that the defendant recieve legal representation prior to arraignment.A public defender may have little time to review the case before arraignment,or may not even be assigned the case before arraignment.Preparation is key to a successful defense.A private attorney can meet with the defendant prior to arraignment,review the case,and provide the defendant with step-by-step options prior to the arraignment process.
