LOVE IS TWISTED...LET ME TWIST YOUR HEART

(I met a girl on Collegeclub that had that in her profile. I'm not sure if it was her personal quote but I liked it. Here's a personal quote from me:

"It's nice to be admired by many, but if the person you like doesn't feel the same way about you...it means nothing."

D. Khalil Hodges

BEFORE I START READ THIS!!! I think I made it very easy for those who don't like to read by highlighting the things I feel that are important to know about me. :) *hint-hint*

For over a year and some change I been trying to be able to do a Muscle Up. For those that do not know what it is it’s a combination of a Pull up and a Dip. (yes that thing that gymnasts and individuals from the Bartendaz camp do). Click that link at the bottom to see me doing it.
DKH’s First Muscle Up!.

I'm having like a lil poetry Battle online right here on BP.
If you're interested in seeing who will reign in the "battle of the sexes,"

I joined this BODYBUILDING.COM
site and I absolutely love the site. I'm not on facebook or myspace. I'm not sure if I'll ever join those (LOVED THE MOVIE THOUGH!) but I'm on here. If you're interested in checking my site out there click here. (I have pictures uploaded there too *wink*)

OW OW!!!
to the brothers and hearts of the BrOWn and Gold!!

Also, much love to all the greeks out there doing their thang-

ESPECIALLY THE NOBLE BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE NPHC.

Now that I got that out the way let me tell you a little about myself...

...my name is Doctor Delanté Khalil Hodges (And please don't forget my accent, thank you very much) I'm actually one of those people that answers to many names and nicks. I would say mainly because there's actually people in this world who cannot pronounce Delanté or Khalil. (sad I know) I tell ya people I answer to Del, Lanté, Dee, DK, DKH, D. Khalil, Kaluha, Cleo, Caleb, hey you, "The Innocent One" and of course psssst, oh yeah and the line names I have for Iota but we'll get into that later...

I'm real big on middle names because people hardly ever use them. FYI, Delanté means #1 or in front of, for all you spanish buffs out there. I know Khalil means friend, but I've also heard it means, 'dear friend, companion, beloved friend,' which basically is all the same thing. Ha, I like it when people try and tell me what my name means but anyway, it doesn't mean enemy and that's all you need to know and when you put my names together it stands for, #1 friend. Cool eh? My mommy thought of that. She always said that I'd be her #1 friend. (here's where you say, aww) One day my children will have catch phrases as well for their names. (Actually, if and when I have a daugther her first name will be 'Aprilyn' which is my sister's middle name. My father's name is Lynwood and my mother's name is Aprille' and I feel I can honor all three with Aprilyn...bam!) Anyway, I do like both of my names equally and I tend to sign D. Khalil Hodges to make it known that I do honor my first name and I just wait for people to ask me, 'hey what's the D stand for?" Then, like that old skit on "In Living Color, I hit em' with the "BAM!!!!" and tell them the meaning behind my name. I do prefer to be called Khalil because come on...how convient would it be for 'my friends' to call me what my name means right?

I was born in Buffalo, but raised in the Bronx, near the and trains.

That means, I`ve grown up saying,"Soda and Lollipop" not,
"Pop and Suucker." I grew up and pretty much lived in the state of NY all my life going back and forth from going to school in the Bronx and coming up to Buffalo to spend time with my mother's side of the family.

I then went to school and graduated from the University at Buffalo with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2006. I also graduated from Walsh University in Ohio with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in April of 2009. Yes I'm so excited! I haven't been as active as I'd like to be in my fraternity, Iota Phi Theta, Fraternity, Inc.® Most of the traveling (road trips) or memorable experiences I can look back on already in my college career has been because of my affiliation and love for my organization. It has brought me across great miles and many friends and etc... I really miss stepping. I look forward to being Grand Secretary one day! Why Secretary? (It's the strongest position on the e-board...think about it! : )

Now here's my KEEP IT REAL!!!!!!!!!! section.

I'mma keep it real with you guys and just say a lot of times I do lack in the common sense department. My parents and older sister have always said that about me and I am now admitting to it. It's a fault I gladly accept and ooh-ooh, I'm also terrible at names. I don't know what happens within that 7 seconds when I shake someone's hand and they recite their name to me. It's like I go deaf or something. Uhh let's see...I have a bad tendency to point at people in public when I'm talking about them. My friends always get me on that like STOP POINTING! I come from a family who doesn't reveal ages and I've inherited that gene and kept up with the tradition. I always thought it was weird and you will too that I don't know how old anyone in my family is that's older than me. It's like a 007 secret because every year there's the same amount of candles on the cake. I guess we have a, "don't ask-don't tell" policy. I don't care if people find out I just hardly ever openly tell and if and when I do I give the age the majority of the people THINK I am. Plus, when people don't know your age they can't make those assumptions about you and categorize you. Like, "she's too young/old for you, or act your age. *smile* I'm very comitted to my education and my goals and I'm afraid of failure and it not being a life after death. Whew! Doesn't that say a lot about me?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weird things about me 2010: (I thought this would be cool to put after my "keep it real section." You think they're all true or am I'm fibbing):

1. I don't like trying new things when it comes to food (UNLESS) I'm on vacation and it's all expense paid for. I mean come on...why would I want to pay to try something new and if I don't like it I'm stuck with it right? (I know what you're thinking...you can give it back to the server and etc? but I'm also the type of person to not turn things back to the servers at restaurants because I fear them putting something that I didn't order in my food *gross* In that case...I rather just tell them I don't want it and take it off my bill) [wasn't that a long parenthesis) Like sushi, I don't think I'll ever try sushi in this life time!

2. I weigh myself daily. (Not because I'm obsessed because I only record the number once a month) I mean, I have a scale in my bathroom and when I strip to get in the shower I just get curious...who doesn't it? (okay okay...probably you do!) But I am very much obsessed with going to the gym? I mean honestly, (it's a good thing to be addicted to eh) if I didn't have any responsibilities or females to pursue I can EASILY spend 3-4 hours in the gym EASY! I mean, put it this way, I recently added cardio to my game plan and I try to do 30+ minutes each time and if you factor in rest periods in between and come on...I know like 5-6 exercises JUST for my triceps...also I'm a bit social (HEYYY there's females in the gym!!) and I talk to people here and there and when you take breaks...look up at the time and BAM! (I just spent 2 hours already and I'm not even half way through my list...yes I make recipes when I work out.)

3. I don't consider myself a drinker but I DO allow myself to get pissy drunk at least once a year (usually on vacay!) FYI: pissy drunk relative to my drinking tolerance means 3-maybe 4 drinks oooooh BIG DAWG!

4. I prefer the athletic type of girls. I mean, come on I'm in the health field. Why wouldn't I want someone who looks like they take care of themselves and all about health just like me? I've always said to myself that one day I'd meet my wife in the gym...I think it's very cute when I see those couples working out together. (that's so gonna be me one day)

5. I'm not much of a phone person ANYMORE. I mean, hmm I remember the good ole' days when I'd spend hours on the phone with 1 person...hang up and call another to spend another couple hours on the phone. [I used to love 3-way party line calling too...] I feel there's not a lot of people I connect well with and entertain me over the phone. I usually get bored and prefer not to have a 'whatcha-been-up-to playing catch-up convo's. (Just keep in touch with me and you'll know these things)

Favorite book: The Pledge, The Color Purple, and Intoxicated by the Lynx.
(Click the books)

The "Intoxicated by the Lynx" book is written by my very own cousin Nicole C. Holmes.

Favorite quote(s):
(My dad always recited the first part of this quote to me, even when I did things bad. The second part I read on a poster somewhere)
1. "ALWAYS be a LEADER, NOT a follower. But, if you DO choose to follow, ALWAYS make sure the leader is taking you where YOU want to go."

2. "Be who you are and say how you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." (Thanks Marlene)

3. "It is BETTER to be HATED for who you are than to be LOVED for who you PRETEND to be."

4. "Don't let ANYONE make you feel like you don't deserve what you want. Take each days as it comes and believe that change is still possible."
(Thanks Mari)

5. "I rather dig my own hole, than to have someone else push me in one."
(ORIGINAL 5-11-01 @ 3:04AM) D. Khalil Hodges

6. "I didn't say that I didn't say it. I said that I didn't say that I said it. I want to make that very clear." G. Romney

7. "The difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary is that little extra"
(Thanks Observadora)

8. "Humility only extends to your own capacity for being humble." (another original of mine with an edit by O. Morgan) (I added this quote because one day working in an acute care ICU hospital this patient was throwing up in a waste basket and I saw that he was two steps away from yanking his IV line out so I went in to sit him down. Upon doing that his gown fell down and I said to myself, "hmm never stood next to a naked man before." LOL

Favorite Sayings: (yes order matters)
1. "I knew that; I was just checking to see if you knew..."
2. "I'm as innocent as they come."
3. "...and I mean that in the most respectable way."
4. "See, what had happened was..."
5. "I'll be right back"
6. "Don't be wack!"

Favorite poem: Well, that would be mine of course. :)
It`s called, "I AM GOD'S CREATION"
