For All Who Care

This poem was inspired by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. I watched things unfold on that tragic day from my TV. New York is my home I could not believe what had happened. It was like watching a disaster movie. It was surreal to say the least. I was affected to the point that I spent weeks watching the news almost 24 hours per day. It began to take its toll. September 11, 2001, dominated my conversation. It affected my work and family life.I have heard the fears of Armageddon and all. However, what concerns me more is mans inhumanity to man. I believe in the tenant, which is the bedrock of all religion. ¿Do unto others as you would have them do unto you¿. A friend of mine told me, she was tired of hearing people saying, "Live each day as if it was your last day on earth", instead, she said, ¿We should live each day in service to God¿, now more than ever before I agree.



ANSWERS



The tiny places are so distant

The trials of life are so persistent

If we had ventured we could see

The lives of other¿s as they should be

The tragedy is not lives lost but the emptiness

On raging seas our pain seems tossed

On Monday morning the world seemed all right

By Monday evening we witnessed the blight

Home was a war zone

Like none before

The shock waves from hell

Made a deafening roar

The question was

Who, what where and why

What¿s the answer?

Did you really Cry

Did you cry for justice?

And if you do

To whom do you cry?

And what good does it do

The world is ugly

From hunger, disease and strife

Did you pray that day?

For another¿s life

Or did you wake up

Content to go on

Moving from day to day

With trivia¿s song

If you did

Your world took a blast

Because your foundation

Was not built to last

Look deep inside and if you stand still

You understand it¿s not God¿s will

To leave them alone, no not one

Don¿t walk to Justice, you¿d better run

To the least of these, that you¿ve done

You have done it to me, Yes, you are the one

Don¿t look for Heaven you won¿t get in

Till you understand all mankind¿s your kin

To all of you who need love, and I assume that is all of us, remember true love is unconditional. You cannot make a person love you the way you want to be loved. You must be willing to accept how love is given to you. If you cannot accept the way a person loves you keep moving, you will find what you need.
