What do I value?

What means the world to me are my parents, family, grandmother (R.I.P. I`ll always love you) and my friends (good friends are hard to come by), and knowledge/education. (not necessarily standard education. I mean uplifting ur consciousness type). Above all, I value my relationship with God, and bless those that share that relationship.

Worst fear:

Right about now, my worst fear is what is to become of Black and Hispanic people if we continue to let Amerikkka do us like they`ve been doing us. We have a common enemy, and yet we only seem to be able to kill, steal from, and destroy our own people and communities.

POEMS

Black Man

They whipped you

They chained you

They told you, you were nothin`

While they raped me

Abused me

And dared you to try somethin`

I can picture the tears in your eyes

As your body defied

Your mental intuition that urged you to tear them apart

Tears invade my eyes too

As I am picturing you

And I vowed forever to keep unconditional love for you in my heart.

And that is why I love you, Black Man.

The next time I saw you, we were physically free

They unshackled our bodies, but let our shackled mentality be

It was the 21st century

Where the new form of slavery found you in the state penitentiary

It's starting to make sense to me

You still believed you were nothing, and could offer me the same

I couldn't convince you of your self-worth,

No matter how hard I tried to explain

You had been told by their media, their education,

That you were a menace to society

Convinced you that your own brown skin brethren

Was your number one rivalry

They told you, you would never make it: you were too weak and pathetic

Unless you sold drugs, or entertained them through rap songs and athletics

The American dream didn't include you,

Cuz see, you were the nightmare

But see, WE built this country with our unpaid labor

So we are its rightful heirs

Even under these circumstances, I stick with you,

And you wonder how.

But I never break my promise, or more importantly, my vow

To love you unconditionally Black Man.

You think the way to my heart

Is through nice cars and long chains

Not knowing I could care less

About your monetary gain

Cuz see, I loved you when we both were slaves

With not a dime between us both

When we were eating chitterlings

While the white folks were eatin roast

And merrily offering toast

Of prosperity and life

While we huddled in the shed

With nothing but misery and strife...

...And each other

Whether you're my father, son, brother, or lover

I love you all the same,

I'd never wish to find another

I feel the same way now

That I felt way back then

No matter what you`re goin` through

I always will defend

The unconditional love that I have for you

Black Man...
