First of all, considering my name, it means "ascetic" or "mystic" in Urdu, a ancient Persian language. Secondly, I am not Muslim. I am a freethinker. I have a firm belief in God (or which ever name you choose), Universal Laws, and a belief in reason, tolerance and acceptance of all faiths.
If anything, I am more inspired by the teachings of Zen Buddhism, Practical Taoism, and the discipline of Wing Chun Gung Fu.
6'1, athletic build, hazel brown eyes, etheric presence. A certified counselor, a poet, musician, a athlete.
I'm a firm believer in volunteerism. I have found many ways to volunteer my time, skills and money. I am a member of Men United in Philadelphia and I sit on a citizen's advisory board for a major hospital in my area. I also am a part of a BlockWatch for my community.
I feel shame at times, living in the most wealthy nation in the world, but have so many suffering. There is so much we can do, in our local areas, to make conditions better for us, and mostly our future, the children.
Do something. We have enough talk, and we know what the problems are. VolunteerMatch.org is a great site to find organizations in your area. Dosomething.org is another.

"To be learned in all that is worth knowing. Not to be crammed with the subject matter of the book or the philosophy of the class room, but to store away in your head such facts as you need for the daily application of life, so that you may the better in all things undertsand your fellowmen, and interpret your relationship to your Creator. You can be educated in soul, vision and feeling, as well as in mind"--Marcus Garvey
I hold these three treasures close to my heart
The first is Love.
The next, Simplicity.
The third, Reducing Ego.
-----Lao Tzu
Those who follow the Tao
are strong in body, clear of mind,
and sharp of sight and hearing.
They do not fill their minds with anxieties
and are flexible in adjusting
to external conditions.
-----Chuang Tzu
"Having cleared away impurities,
the mind is free of worries--peaceful, kind and virtuous.
When the mind is radiant and has given up evil,
there is always ease."--Ajahn Cahn
