Music....

In the beginning the first thing created was not light, it was sound.

The music of God's voice spoke life into this world and since my incipience sound has brought me pleasure and pain.

Music....Sound....It drives my soul. When I hear music, my thoughts peer into the lyrics and into the beats and melodies and seeks peace and support in every word and note I hear. I am a rebel because I dont fit the mold of my age, my gender, my regional location, or spiritual nature. The relishing fact is that I don't even want to. I like what I like and I dont care what genre into which it fits. i just love MUSIC.

My background in music goes back to the womb because my parents had a serious love of music. Everyday there were all sorts of music blaring into the homes of my family. I swished back and forth with the beats. Yet, the pain began at the age of four when I stopped being able to hear the sounds anymore. Diagnosis: Partial Deafness in both ears. The condition was so painful that I didnt want to hear anything. I feared never hearing sounds anymore. Yet, knew Music would rescue me and soothe me in the midst of my highs and lows. So he fully restored my sense of hearing and birthed in me a new appreciation and sensitivity for sounds....for Music.

I lacked rhythm until I picked up my first pair of "woods" (drumsticks). But since then, I can feel the beat in every song I hear. I find it I tap it. I move to it like fish move with the waves of the ocean. Then my mouth opens to to search the melodies. I've always loved to sing, since I was a little girl in church. But that love grew as I got involved with more and more choirs of various types until I went on to study Vocal Performance in Classicals and Comtemporaries in College. I am not one who thrives from others applause. I appreciate the applause of my soul. Since then, I've learned to open my mind and my senses to the music of various genres. Thus, Im content.....
