tkenu1 What is Justice What is Justice? This is a very simple question, with a very complex and difficult answer. Justice is a pseudonym for the fair and equal treatment of all members of a given society when dealing with the jurisdictional laws and practices of a given Municipality. Now under the law each citizen has equal and fair protection from false arrest, malicious prosecution, unlawful search and seizure, double jeopardy, racial profiling etc. In a civilized society these concepts should most assuredly be adhered to and embraced by the entirety of the citizenry. ?Justice? in America is this possible? When a Society has more than one Nation living within its borders can Justice be dispensed evenly, without regards to race, color or creed? And as we are left to ponder this query, does the current state of the American Judicial System foster confidence that all Americans including ones of color will receive equal treatment under and unbiased access to the Legal System that some say is the greatest in the world. Justice has been "Deaf, Dumb and Blind", in regards to Blacks in America and we have been just as handicapped in our endeavors to make systemic change in the system. Justice the word itself holds a special meaning in communities of color, less than 50 years ago a Black Man could be murdered by White Men and the culprits could be caught and tried but there were little or no convictions, flash forwards here it is 2007 and Black Men are still being killed with little or no convictions. "Juris Prudence" at work a shining example of the American Judiciary System at work, fair and equal treatment under the law for all Americans. Laws are generally written by, presented to, and ultimately passed by White Men; the laws again are upheld and generally enforced by White Men and with guns when deemed necessary.
