personal message

As I reflect on the past year and continue to move forward in the new year, I can honestly say life is full of trials and tribulations. If I were to go by the saying "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger", I would be the heavyweight lifting champion! Not only did I become a heavy weightlifter (only in jest!) but I also literally traveled around the world this year not only physically but also emotionally! But all in all I was blessed and I still have my joy! I returned in July and thankfully I've been able to see some of my friends from coast to coast! When I ponder the moments that have made me the happiest, it's usually the simple things like:

1. Seeing the sunshine after a long period of cloudiness

2. Making someone smile or laugh

3. Seeing the "got it" moment after tutoring someone

4 Reading a good book

5. Mentoring a young child

6. Listening to the wisdom of those who came before us

7. Spending time with family and/or that special someone

8. Friendship, love tends to be more complex!

9. Hugs, who doesn't like one from time to time!

10. Nature and its beauty

11. Hearing from a friend after an extended period of time

So what makes you happy? Is it material or spiritual? People or solitude? Manmade or natural? Reality or make believe? Monogamy or polygamy? Beauty or ugliness? Knowledge or ignorance? Love or hate? Take the time to find out what makes you happy! However; if you are not open to it no one not even the Lord can make you happy! Enjoy the blessings that you have received and I'm sure once you start noticing what has transpired in your life a sense of awe just may come over you!

And lastly but also foremost being able to thank God for the blessings I have had bestowed on me and the many friendships and relationships that have come into my life. Thanks to all of my current friends and maybe even a few future friends out there for being a part of my experience on BP! So what do you think, should I get another degree or just get a pet...inquiring minds would like to know!!!
