As a political and social scientist and a studier of people, I've found that most Blacks that feel oppressed by the white man today are those who are involved in corporate America, the criminal justice system, or the truly disadvantaged. In either case, remnants of oppression, discrimination, and intentional segregation are clear and present. However, I remind Blacks that if you're not a part of the SOLUTION, you're a part of the PROBLEM! Today, America and its opportunities represent the American Dream and the Dream of the African Slave...liberty to move about and pursue life and happiness without or with few limitations. Today, in America, Blacks too willingly succumb to mental, psychological, and defacto racial barriers and challenges without engaging the strength, pride, and determination of our Ancestors. Why? People who do not know, understand, or embrace their history can not fully wrap their minds, hearts or souls around the concepts of freedom, independence, health, love, or wealth! As for the Democrat vs. Republican debate...again, understanding the philosophical and ideological differences in the two parties are important. The contemporary Republican has been assimilated and groomed in lessons that systematically segregate Americans based on class, race, and gender. The contemporary Democrat has been assimilated and groomed in lessons that rationalizes Americans as "The People"...empowered Constitutionally to redistribute wealth and resources more equitably regardless of race, class or gender. Blacks are at a crossroad in finding comfortable places for themselves in the Republican Party. I say..."There is ROOM!" In order to change the party's philosophical and ideological approach to serving and representing all of the American people fairly, the Black American must be in "the game". Nothing is impossible! No area of growth, development or success in this country should be left untapped by the Black man or segregated! Thanks for the feedback! I love Politics and Social Science.
