From July 22nd to July 24th 2005, nine members of the James P. Beckwourth Mountain Club backpacked into McCullough Gulch for three days and two nights, below 14,265 foot Quandary Peak, south of Breckenridge, Colorado. The first day, we backpacked about 1/2 to 3/4 mile to our base camp, situated on a rocky ledge, overlooking a willow covered creek and beaver ponds, to setup camp, to check out the general camp site terrain and hang out for the day.
