Updates & bug fixes on virtual gift features

We've heard your comments and week by week we are working to address your concerns with Gifts.

Last week we released the following updates and fixes to the Gifts feature:

* Users can redeem member points to get noticed in Dating and Member Find.

* Previous arrow button misaligned in store front for IE 6 users.

* User photo now appears in the store front.

* For members with no received Gifts, the Gifts storefront plopup display is fixed and photo is displayed.

* When users spend member points, their account balance is actually deducted to reflect that.

In the coming weeks we will focus on the following:

* Work with Viximo to bring back some discreetness in virtual gifting (i.e. private, anonymous gifting).

* Work with Viximo to get much better 3rd party offers to earn BP$.

* Ability to reply to a note with a Gift.

* Ability to send a Gift as an icebreaker when you're inviting someone to be your friend.

Optimized BlackPlanet.com Main Page

We’ve optimized the BlackPlanet.com main page to make it easier for members to log in quickly, and more efficient for new visitors to register or start exploring the site.


What to expect?

 

SIMPLIFIED DESIGN
A clean and clutter-free experience focused on three main objectives:

1. Member login
2. Visitor registration
3. Visitor discovery of members

 

LOGIN TO ACCESS HOME
Members need to log in to get to the Home page (www.BlackPlanet.com/home). Home is still where members go to access their personal dashboard with links to notes, hits, account and more. It’s also the place to find out what’s going on in the BP Universe. There’s still plenty that members can do without logging in, like browsing/searching profiles and reading blogs.

 

PHISHING ALERT
As always, we’re concerned with member security. To avoid phishing scams please confirm that the URL in your browser reads http://www.BlackPlanet.com before you log in. The optimized main page will look very different, but rest assured it is BlackPlanet if the URL matches.

 

LOGIN BADGE
You may notice that your badge is not near the login fields. We're working on a resolution. Expect to see the changes as early as next week.
