Promotions & Events Coordinator
This role will coordinate all promotional marketing and events for the Interactive One Network and Giant Magazine
Responsibilities include:
- Be fully versed in the Interactive One brands; NewsOne.com, TheUrbandaily.com, HelloBeautiful.com, Elev8.com, BlackPlanet.com and Giant magazine
- Be able to articulate the value proposition for each brand
- Assist in the development of promotional programs for Interactive One and Giant magazine; includes participating in brainstorming meetings, writing proposals, developing the schedule and execution plan, and distribution
- Execute promotional programs leveraging the Radio One assets (radio, TV, print and online)
- Develop an on-going relationship with the Radio-One program directors and DJ's to ensure maximum brand presence through DJ chatter and on-air mentions
- Develop radio scripts and promotional copy to support marketing efforts
- Proactively identify new opportunities, ie promotional events and sponsorships to integrate Interactive One and GIANT magazine,Ensure accurate brand presence
- Coordinate client events, trade events, issue release parties, create schedule and maintain adherence to schedule, negotiate and manage all third party vendors, secure talent, manage onsite client activation and day of activities, communicate updates to sales reps on a timely basis
- Must be fully versed in the brand positioning of each site and the magazine Must be up be fully versed on how to use the tools on BlackPlanet.com
- Develop and manage the "after hours" section of GIANT Magazine
- Create quarterly marketing recap reports to present to sr. management
- Reports to the Director, Strategic Marketing Interactive One/GIANT
The ideal candidate will have some or all of these qualifications and 3-5 years experience in marketing and promotions.
Candidate must be outgoing with strong people skills and the ability to manage a budget effectively. Events/promotions background, superior written and verbal communication abilities required.
