/* "Digitized Downsizing or Electronic Outsourcing" by Gregory V. Boulware Cloud Computing Cloud Modeling Virtualization, the effects, and the management of efficient IT resources. Have we all become familiar with the new uh the latest IT/BI buzzword terminology? Does it all mean job loss for IT and BI End Users? Virtual machines that run other virtual machines and so on, seems to suggest the limited need for human interfacing. Electronic companies are taking roads to more efficient data centers via virtualization - cloud-computing environments. Tens of thousands of servers in a particular company may have any primary data centers with the numbers constantly growing a minimum of 20%, according to J. Nicholas Hoover. His report indicates the investing of companies in making data centers run more efficiently. One example given by the report suggests 60% of new servers put into operation utilize virtualization. The report also suggests the over expanding number of virtual machines can be managed by managing servers that are interfaced as a pool of resources. I wonder how many carbon-based units (humans) are planned in this massive upgrade? Has the IT/BI job market been usurped by this new it's latest adversary? The loss of more employment opportunities within the technology environment becomes reality as opposed to virtuality. Cloud Computing: The term cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet, based on how the Internet is depicted in computer network diagrams, and is an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it conceals. The concept incorporates infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS) as well as Web 2.0 and other recent (ca. 2007-2009) technology trends that have the common theme of reliance on the Internet for satisfying the computing needs of the users. Examples include Salesforce.com, Google Apps or Windows Azure, which provide common business applications online that are accessed from a web browser, while the software and data are stored on the servers. Cloud computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet. Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them. Cloud computing is often confused with grid computing ("a form of distributed computing whereby a 'super and virtual computer' is composed of a cluster of networked, loosely-coupled computers, acting in concert to perform very large tasks"), utility computing (the "packaging of computing resources, such as computation and storage, as a metered service similar to a traditional public utility such as electricity") and autonomic computing ("computer systems capable of self-management"). Hoover's report includes planned evaluation pilot projects that are underway, including a number of companies that share interests in cloud platforms. Hoover says CTO Greg Simpson, seeks a project to implement technology that give flexibility, automation, and manageability. The evaluation acts as an aid in deciding whether to have one expansive internal cloud or multiple clouds. The demand is to charge units for what they consume. "Emerging virtualization and systems management technologies will play a major role," says Simpson, according to Hoover. The server administrators will continue to manage some system units individually, albeit, Simpson wants to move to managing them as a group, says Hoover. How nice! Indeed many cloud computing deployments as of 2009 depend on grids, have autonomic characteristics and bill like utilities but cloud computing can be seen as a natural next step from the grid-utility model. Some successful cloud architectures have little or no centralized infrastructure or billing systems whatsoever, including peer-to-peer networks. The majority of cloud computing infrastructure as of 2009 consists of reliable services delivered through data centers and built on servers with different levels of virtualization technologies. The services are accessible anywhere that has access to networking infrastructure. The Cloud appears as a single point of access for all the computing needs of consumers. Commercial offerings need to meet the quality of service requirements of customers and typically offer service level agreements. Open standards are critical to the growth of cloud computing and open source software has provided the foundation for many cloud computing implementations. The customers engaging in cloud computing do not own the physical infrastructure serving as host to the software platform in question. Instead, they avoid capital expenditure by renting usage from a third-party provider. They consume resources as a service, paying instead for only the resources they use. Many cloud-computing offerings have adopted the utility computing model, which is analogous to how traditional utilities like electricity are consumed, while others are billed on a subscription basis. Sharing "perishable and intangible" computing power among multiple tenants can improve utilization rates, as servers are not left idle, which can reduce costs significantly while increasing the speed of application development. A side effect of this approach is that "computer capacity rises dramatically" as customers do not have to engineer for peak loads. Adoption has been enabled by "increased high-speed bandwidth" which makes it possible to receive the same response times from centralized infrastructure at other sites. Internet networking and the web services allow interfacing with the "Cloud" from any location. With "Clouds", the business owner can become king. A "hybrid-cloud - part public, part internal - replaced proprietary networks - an extension of corporate networks - it's technically feasible to run data warehouses in public clouds. The "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act" - Sarbanes-Oxley, and credit card industry's PCI (Peripheral Component Inter-Connect) standard put stringent controls on personal data. Running a data warehouse on an internal cloud gets around those issues. In most cases, private cloud designers also will need to implement a virtualization management layer that goes beyond what they already have in place. "Virtualization isn't a requirement for private-clouds." "Workloads can be moved around without 'hypervisor software.' But in most cases, virtualization and internal clouds will go hand in hand. Rule of thumb: if you can master virtualization in the data center, you'll master the private cloud. Some reasons given for building private clouds: Lower capacity - pooling resources will let companies reduce computing capacity by giving higher priority tasks power during peaks. Reduce overhead - servers and related resources in a virtual data center can be managed as a unit. Prepare - a private cloud will help IT teams get ready for private-public hybrid clouds in the future data center. It has been suggested that enterprises start training users now to take advantage of cloud computing, according to Staten as reported by Babcock. From where will the users to be trained come from if there is no one in the IT/BI job market bank-pool? Many IT professionals have jumped ship gone on to better pastures gotten another job or changed their line of work due to less and less Information and Technology Pros by company and corporate downsizing and the utilization of machine run machines? Will the planet Earth become another "Cybortron?" Will the human race become a race of "Data Units" as opposed to "Carbon-based Units?" Are "Cyborgs" cheaper to make than robots? Are new-born babies being implanted with ID chips in this world of plastic currency, smart cards, automated transportation, automated devices, automated surveillance, and automated electronic everything? What does the "Vitruvian Man" imply? "Leonardo's famous drawings of the Vitruvian proportions of a man's body first standing inscribed in a square and then with feet and arms outspread inscribed in a circle provides an excellent early example of the way in which his studies of proportion fuse artistic and scientific objectives. It is Leonardo, not Vitruvius, who points out that 'If you open the legs so as to reduce the stature by one-fourteenth and open and raise your arms so that your middle fingers touch the line through the top of the head, know that the centre of the extremities of the outspread limbs will be the umbilicus, and the space between the legs will make and equilateral triangle' (Accademia, Venice). Here he provides one of his simplest illustrations of a shifting 'centre of magnitude' without a corresponding change of 'centre of normal gravity'. This remains passing through the central line from the pit of the throat through the umbilicus and pubis between the legs. Leonardo repeatedly distinguishes these two different 'centres' of a body, i.e., the centers of 'magnitude' and 'gravity (Keele 252)." The picture represents a cornerstone of Leonardo's attempts to relate man to nature. Encyclopedia Britannica online states, "Leonardo envisaged the great picture chart of the human body he had produced through his anatomical drawings and Vitruvian Man as a cosmografia del minor mondo (cosmography of the microcosm). He believed the workings of the human body to be an analogy for the workings of the universe." Who gets your vote, the "Virtual Machine" or the "Carbon-based Unit?" The world as we know it has changed dramatically and we are on a collision course to a totally and virtually metamorphosis of "Integrated Circuitry!" A cohesive existence twix man - machine? Is interfacing feasible or endangered? What about the IT and BI job market, will it all end? Who knows? Til next time. LEGAL EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION by Gregory V. Boulware 8.17.8 http://www.BoulwareEnterprises.com
/* Seeking employment? Looking for a job? Have you not experienced this - "applicants are subject to background check(s) - (drug screen, criminal background check, child abuse, and CREDIT CHECK)?
When applying to a job and/or career position, you can always expect the standardized "background check." If you are hired to drive a vehicle, be responsible to care for and/or teach someone's children, operate machinery, stock shelves, maintain a data base, mop a floor, fry chicken and flip hamburgers, wash cloths, wash windows, or whatever the hell else you're applying to do, why is it so important to have a credit check?
Albeit, if you are applying to work in a bank or handle funds of some nature, one can be expected to be investigated for fraud, stealing, robbery, and any other crime involving money!
But if you are doing a job while working on a construction project, i.e., laying bricks or knocking down a wall, driving a truck, or taking out the trash and mopping a floor (which is expected of many of us), why in the hell would anyone want to know if your credit is good or not? I've applied to many job opportunities where this Claus is the application/hiring requirement. Have you seen the same? How many times have you applied electronically (internet application) and not contacted? How many times have you received a call from a potential employer (usually an HR Rep.), and he or she explained that if your credit score is not in a certain percentile, you will not be interviewed and/or selected for further processing? I received a telephone interview once where the interviewer literally stated that if your credit score were not acceptable, you would not get the job! The job position was "Administrative Assistant", a job classification that I've worked for several years; the interview itself went pretty well up to that point. I never disclosed to the interviewer what my credit score was. I believe that "it's none of your business!"
They would also ask if you've had a bankruptcy or not. That one almost always indicates they don't want to talk to you! I also understand that employers wish to evaluate the applicant's skill set regarding responsibility, trustworthiness, and/or the ability to handle his or her personal affairs. The latter should not be invasive to the candidate's personal life and/or affairs. It seems to me if employers want to hire "legal American Employees", they could make the process a bit more appealing and less stressful.
The reports that I have seen on the major networks always mention the unemployment figures only to exacerbate the financial status image of the country and/or to benchmark their ratings. After filing out a long drawn out application, with multiple profile pages, answering all of the questions over and over again; taking more than an hour to complete, receiving the email that reads - "we have received your application, should we find that you are a fit to what we are seeking - a representative will contact you". Only to not be contacted or interviewed is more than enough to make any potential job seeker say to "hell with this." When your career accomplishments, scholastic achievements, are not being recognized and/or respected, it's small wonder that jobs are not being fulfilled as expected (or planned).
Outsourcing, NAFTA, the hiring of so-called cheap-non taxable-uncontested-illegal immigrant labor has wrecked havoc on the nations' economic stability. I can recall when one could walk out of one job setting and go directly across the street and get another job without blinking an eye - back in the day when the country was a powerhouse of manufacturing and self sustaining manufacturing qualities. Its people were proud to say "it's made in America by Americans and we made it at our place of employment." I can recall when fathers' and mothers' could tell their children stories of what they contributed to a certain product or what building they worked in and what building they helped to construct. American workers of all races, colors, creeds, ages, and religions have bent over backwards to stay abreast of the changes in the work force.
They and I have gone back to school, earned college degrees, endured new and continuous training in order to keep up and/or compete in the global and domestic job market. It seems to me, with all of the adversity that Americans face on a daily basis, we continue to listen to tales of economic woe. The companies continue to cry out "we don't have enough qualified workers to fulfill our workforce needs." How many Americans do you think buy that garbage? Especially when the vast majority of companies are making high profits - "hand over fist", via offshore skill and labor. When do you think they will wake up and realize that they are part of the problem and not party to the solution? What ever happened to "skill and trade shop training in the public school systems? What ever happened to "on the job training and skill recognition?" If you are an older-seasoned worker, being respected or recognized for your life skills is a total joke!
The higher food chain moguls seek ways to eradicate our pension(s), social security, job security and stability, and seek ways of putting us out to pasture. Some of their excuses are "your job skills are outdated, we need to introduce younger workers with fresh ideas and skills." "We need new blood!" Do they remember who trained them in their jobs or whom it was that mentored them and made it possible to attain their current status? You know...there need not be any poor people...if every multibillionaire - multimillionaire sponsored every poor person in the world by providing food and permanent shelter forever, they wouldn't lose a dime! They already have more money than they'll ever need in a lifetime. Their children for generations will never see a hungry day! Many of these people always talk about giving back to the community..."we gave to charity organizations"..."we belong to the 4-H Club"...is this the most viable and touchable way to do it? Think about it? If every person had a place to live, food in their refrigerators...do you think there would be a need to commit a crime? Yeah, there will probably be criminals...but the majority of people just want to live! They want to have a place to call their own...they want to be able to eat on a daily basis...and to live in peace. If every rich person gave a person who has nothing, a house and a food source...that is truly giving back to the community.
The thing is, greed and control has a way of destroying what GOD has intended for his people. I don't understand why people need to feel better than others...have more than others...feel the need to control and/or enslave others...why is it rich people cannot share the wealth? Many of them prospered on the backs of others.
Another thing is, we need to get back to the respectable way of life in America. They need to do away with the credit check (except where and when necessary, i.e., money handlers), stop the intimidating practice of turning off potential candidates who fit the bill and be aware of the candidate who will put it all on the line in order to get the coveted job, not just succeed in the interview process, and put emphasis on the need of out-placed skilled-seasoned workers and what they are willing to do in order to get the job and get it done professionally - the American Way! While there is many ways to make corrections to this dilemma, the employers seeking qualified workers should start with in-house evaluations - How would they feel if it were they who are usurped and their jobs outsourced to who-knows-where for the sake of profit and/or the balance sheet? Look at the big picture - The Dignity of the American Worker, Young, Old, Black, White, Latino, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, and whatever the differences visual and/or implied, to not allow negative suggestions guide the decision to hire "Qualified American Workers." Stop the Legal Discrimination of our American Work Force.
The Message?
"View My Resume and Qualifications and Tell Me That I am Not Able to Perform the Job at Hand!" What in the hell does my credit record have to do with the performance of career duties? Did you not think that something drastic happened in my life to cause a bad credit history? Did you not think that illness or the separation from employment had something to do with a less than perfect credit history? Do you think that people like me wish to remain indebted? What are/were you thinking when you see my credentials? The sacrifices, determination, and hard work that it took in order to get a better job to sustain my family, pay my legitimate bills/debts, and live a better life?
Everyone cannot be an independent entrepreneur, albeit we all are when we barter our services to employers, companies, and corporations that require and/or have need of our skills and labor! Would you not wish to see a better country...a better world?
Allow us the right to pursue our dreams and posterity. We certainly understand the concept of "One rotten apple!" There will most certainly always be one or two who will choose to not comply with basic life standards and corrupt the system. The tools exist to weed out those culprits. It's wrong to deny access to gainful employment based upon perceived broad-brushed conceptions and false images of so-called credit corruption among the masses, simply because they cannot pay their debts.

Obama Is No Fan of Reparations, Slavery Apology August 4th, 2008 He says that it's better to focus on education, health care and other programs. Sen. Barack Obama has introduced another thought into the mix that certainly won't endear him to the crowd of Black thinkers who say that the United States owes African Americans back pay for hundreds of years of forced labor. "I have said in the past - and I'll repeat again - that the best reparations we can provide are good schools in the inner city and jobs for people who are unemployed," the Illinois Democrat said recently. But, at a time when Obama needs as much support from the Black community as possible. Find out what else he said at BET.com/News. Do you believe that Obama's attempt to become the president of all Americans prevents him from standing up for such issues as affirmative action, reparations or a slavery apology?
WE ARE ALL IMMIGRANTS, VOLUNTARY OR OTHERWISE! We, "Enslaved, Shackled, Non-Free People of Color (Black People), are/were the only group to have been transplanted here in America. There were endentured people, but they, in time, are/were allowed to go free. Others came at their own needs and/or desires. YES...we deserve all and any reparations. How about no taxes for ten years or so? YES...the Jews, Japanese, and any other ethnic group has and continues to be supported by the U.S. Yes they were paid! Do you really believe that we will get anything from them that HATE us?
In reiteration..."It's not the things you know that hurt you, it's the things you know that just aint so!"
Obama's' plan is the most logical one for now. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE...those of you that have doubts and worries about Obama's stand on Black Issues use your brain and stop feeding it with negativity! They lied on and about YAHSHUA / JESUS too! We have always been hoodwinked and bamboozled...will you allow it to happen again? Will you allow the status quo to fool you again? Shame on you and woe on us if they succeed. The truth hurts and many people all over the world cannot handle the truth!

/* "The Great Mediator"- "Just Words" by Gregory V. Boulware www.BoulwareEnterprises.com
Long ago, chaos ruled the world. Peace and happiness was nowhere to be found. There was a young boy with a message who conversed with the wise and learned Holy Men. This boy was 12 years of age. He was very well versed in the Holy Scriptures, more so than they. After hours and days had passed, the Holy Men asked the boy, "How is it that you are so well versed in the Holy Scriptures?" "Many of us have spent our entire lifetime studying the Holy Book and it's scriptures therein, and continually endure difficulty deciphering its meanings." The boy replied, "I am about my fathers' business." "I am the son of God."
"Just Words?"
After the boy became a man, a Rabbi, one of the elders present when the man was a boy of twelve, recalled the question and answer meeting. He recalled the statement that was made of this man when he was a boy. "I am about my fathers' business." "I am the son of God." The healing of the sick and bringing sight to the sightless were among some of the deeds that he was said to have accomplished. The man met his demise with mistrust, envy, jealousy, fear of progress in the right direction, and betrayal. He brought peace to the heart, soul, and mind with "just words." "Just Words?"
Today there is chaos, wars, starvation, greed, envy, betrayal and mistrust among the populace and the nations of the world. It is said by many, the prophet shall surely return to this world. "Just Words?"
There is a young man, today, that has moved many hearts, minds, and the spirit of many. This young man continues to move the mind and heart with "just words." He has been accused of using "just words" that promise to deliver peace and happiness to the world. Many would not agree with such men.
Yahshua, Mahatma Ghandi, Dr. Martin Luther King, and many other men of peace, that were sacrificed for the good of the many, accomplished deeds with "just words." "Without the heart there can be no understanding between the hands and the mind."
Fritz Lang: "Metropolis 1923" "Just Words?"
Who is Yahshua?
Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, became flesh and blood and dwelt on earth to bring salvation to Israel and all Gentiles later to be joined with her. In Hebrew, the word for salvation or saves is SHUA. That is why the angel told Joseph, "she will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Yahshua, for it is He who will save His people from their sins" (Mt 1:21). ...
Jesus descended from the line of Shem; His lineage from Noah through Abraham is shown in Genesis 11:10-27 and Luke 3:34-38: Noah, Shem, Arphaxad, Cainan, Salah, Eber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, Terah, Abram a.k.a Abraham.
Jesus' human paternal genealogy after David, mainly as shown in Matthew is: [7] Solomon (1Ch 3:5), Rehoboam, Abijah, [8] Asa, Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, [9] Uzziah (Ahaziah 1Ch 3:11), Joash (1Ch3: 11), Amaziah (1Ch3: 12), Azariah (1Ch3: 12), [Matt 9] Jotham, Ahaz, [10] Hezekiah, Manasseh, Amon, [11] Josiah, [12] Jeconiah, Shealtiel, [13] Zerubbabel, Abiud, Eliakim, [14] Azor, Zadok, Akim, [15] Eliud, Eleazar, Matthan, [16] Jacob, Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus.
Jesus' maternal genealogy after David, as shown in Luke 3:23-31: Nathan (1Ch 3:5), Mattatha, Menna, [31] Melea, Eliakim, Jonam, Joseph, Judah, [30] Simeon, Levi, Matthat, Jorim, Eliezer, [29] Joshua, Er, Elmadam, Cosam, Addi, [28] Melki, Neri, Shealtiel, Zerubbabel, Rhesa, [27] Joanan, Joda, Josech, Semein, Mattathias, [26] Maath, Naggai, Esli, Nahum, Amos, [25] Mattathias, Joseph, Jannai, Melki, Levi, [24] Matthat, Heli, Joseph, Jesus.
The Twelve Tribes of Israel:
Jacob fathered 12 sons. They are the ancestors of the tribes of Israel, and the ones for whom the tribes are named. Each occupied a separate territory (except the tribe of Levi, which was set apart to serve in the Holy Temple). One of the important results of the end-time events that lead to the return of the Messiah is the reunification of the "lost tribes" of Israel/Ephraim with their brethren. "All of Israel" (the entire twelve tribes) cannot be saved unless they are all brought back into a unity (echad). It is necessary for those of Israel who are "lost" among the nations (Ephraim, the "fullness of the gentiles") to come back in, and only then can this happen. This is the point of the "mystery" of Romans 11:25. "Just Words?"
Who is Mahatma Gandhi?
A great teacher appears once in a while. Several centuries may pass by without the advent of such a one. That by which he is known is his life. He first lives and then tells others how they, man live likewise. Such a teacher was Gandhi. Gandhi's life was rooted in India's religious tradition with its emphasis on a passionate search for truth, a profound reverence for life, the ideal of non-attachment and the readiness to sacrifice all for the knowledge of God. He lived his whole life in the perpetual quest of truth: 'I live and move and have my being in the pursuit of this goal.' A life which has no roots, which is lacking in depth of background is a superficial one. There are some who assume that when we see what is fight we will do it. It is not so. Even when we know what is right it does not follow that we will choose and do right. We are overborne by powerful impulses and do wrong and betray the light in us. 'In our present state we are, according to the Hindu doctrine, only partly human; the lower part of us is still animal; only the conquest of our lower instincts by love can slay the animal in us.' It is by a process of trial and error, self-search and austere discipline that the human being moves step by painful step along the road to fulfillment. "Just words?"
God is the common bond that unites all human beings. To break this bond even with our greatest enemy is to tear God Himself to pieces there is humanity even in the most wicked. The dignity of man requires obedience to a higher law-to the strength of the spirit.' Gandhi was the first in human history to extend the principle of non-violence from the individual to the social and political plane. He entered politics for the purpose of experimenting with non-violence and establishing its validity. 'Some friends have told me that truth and non-violence have no place in politics and worldly affairs. I do not agree. I have no use for them as a means of individual salvation. 'For me, politics bereft of religion are absolute dirt, ever to be shunned. Politics concerns nations and that which concerns the Welfare of nations must be one of the concerns of a man who is religiously inclined, in other words, a seeker after God and Truth. For me God and Truth are convertible terms, and if anyone told me that God was a God of untruth or a God of torture I would decline to worship Him.
Therefore, in politics also we have to establish the Kingdom of Heaven.' We must hate the sin but not the sinner. 'For me patriotism is the same as humanity. I am patriotic because I am human and humane. In the present nuclear context, if we wish to save the world, we should adopt the principles of non-violence. "Unless now the world adopt non-violence, it will spell certain suicide for mankind".' In any future conflict we cannot be certain that neither side will deliberately use nuclear weapons. We have the power to destroy in one blinding flash alt that we have carefully built up across the centuries by our endeavor and sacrifice.
By a campaign of propaganda we condition men's minds for nuclear warfare. Provocative remarks fly about freely. We use aggression even in words; harsh judgments, ill will, anger, are all insidious forms of violence. We live in an age, which is aware of its own defeat and moral coarsening, an age in which old certainties are breaking down; the familiar patterns are tilting and cracking. There is increasing intolerance and embitterment. The creative flame that kindled the great human society is languishing. He who wrongs no one fears no one. He has nothing to hide and so is fearless. He looks everyone in the face. His step is firm, his body upright, and his words are direct and straight. Plato said long ago: 'There always are in the world a few inspired men whose acquaintance is beyond price.'
Gandhi's Talisman: "I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man [woman] whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him [her]. Will he [she] gain anything by it? Will it restore him [her] to a control over his [her] own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj [freedom] for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away." The man was a "Drum Major" for "Love and Peace". He requested that no mention of his awards and honors be made at his funeral, but that it be said that he tried to "feed the hungry," "clothe the naked," "be right on the (Vietnam) war question" and "love and serve humanity."Dr. Martin Luther King has been reduced to what the Rev. Michael Eric Dyson of DePaul University calls a "safe Negro," a romantic dreamer who doesn't make White people uncomfortable. In his book "I May Not Get There With You," Dyson explains that King was much more than a dreamer. The real King, according to Dyson, was far more radical than the one served for holiday dining on the third Monday in January. America wants, as it did in King's day, to maintain social order. Schools lead the charge by teaching a mild-mannered history lesson that seeks to pacify instead of inspire. "They won't teach about the revolutionary King who hung out with Kwame Ture (Stokely Carmichael), loved Marcus Garvey and admired the Honorable Elijah Muhammad," said community activist and King lecturer, Steve Cokely. And of course, not to mention, meetings and conversations with Malcolm X. "Schools will never teach that about Dr. King. It's our responsibility to fill in the blanks for what Dr. King stood for. The essence of that is hidden in the reasons why he was assassinated. As he evolved, his work took him from the South to the North, where racism is an entirely different animal. King began to accuse Northern Whites of "psychological and spiritual genocide." Dyson writes that King said, "I'm tired of marching for something that should have been mine at birth." He began to expand his platform from racial-justice issues to mainstream economic and political issues, which took him out of his place as a "Negro leader" and made him a greater threat to the White power structure. A growing number of people including some poor Whites found he had a greater appeal, as he now was speaking to their plight in America. But our children rarely hear about that work. They don't know that he said, "The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges."

Who is Barack Obama?
Barack Obama, 46, the current United States Presidential Candidate. His father, born of the "Motherland, Kenya - Africa." His mother, born of the "Heartland of the United States of America, Kansas." Barak serving as an Illinois state senator for several years, and in 2004 he won a seat representing that state in the U.S. Senate. His speech, the keynote address before the Democratic National Convention in June 2004 brought him national prominence. He is currently the leading contender for the nomination to represent the Democratic Party in the 2008 presidential election.
Obama's parents: Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black man from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white woman, from Wichita, Kansas. Barack Hussein Obama (Senator Obama's father) was born on the shores of Lake Victoria in Alego, Kenya. They met and married while they were both attending the University of Hawaii. Their son, also named Barack Hussein Obama was born on 4 August 1961 at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Senator Obama wrote of his mother's religious views: My mother, organized religion too often dressed up closed-mindedness in the garb of piety, cruelty and oppression in the cloak of righteousness. This isn't to say that she provided me with no religious instruction. In her mind, a working knowledge of the world's great religions was a necessary part of any well-rounded education. In our household the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology. On Easter or Christmas Day my mother might drag me to church, just as she dragged me to the Buddhist temple, the Chinese New Year celebration, the Shinto shrine, and ancient Hawaiian burial sites. But I was made to understand that such religious samplings required no sustained commitment on my part. Religion was an expression of human culture, she would explain, not its wellspring, just one of the many ways and not necessarily the best way that man attempted to control the unknowable and understand the deeper truths about our lives. "Just Words?"
In sum, my mother viewed religion through the eyes of the anthropologist she would become; it was a phenomenon to be treated with a suitable respect, but with a suitable detachment as well. In his 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope, Obama elaborated on his early schooling, explaining that he attended both Catholic and Muslim schools in Indonesia not out of any particular religious affiliation, but because his mother wanted him to obtain the best education possible under the circumstances: During the five years that we would live with my stepfather in Indonesia, I was sent first to a neighborhood Catholic school and then to a predominantly Muslim school; in both cases, my mother was less concerned with me learning the catechism or puzzling out the meaning of the muezzin's call to evening prayer than she was with whether I was properly learning my multiplication tables.
At the time of his death, my father remained a myth to me, both more and less than a man. He had left Hawaii back in 1963, when I was only two years old, so that as a child I knew him only through the stories that my mother and grandparents told. (Barrack's only other childhood contact with his father occurred when he was eleven years old, and his father came to visit Hawaii for a month at Christmastime. The elder Obama died when Barack Jr. was twenty-one years old.) The beginnings of Obama's relationship with the church were described in an April 2004 Chicago Sun-Times article:
Obama is unapologetic in saying he has a "personal relationship with Jesus Christ." As a sign of that relationship, he says, he walked down the aisle of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ in response to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's altar call one Sunday morning about 16 years ago. It began in 1985, when he came to Chicago as a $13,000-a-year community organizer, working with a number of African-American churches in the Roseland, West Pullman and Altgeld Gardens neighborhoods that were trying to deal with the devastation caused by shuttered steel plants. "I started working with both the ministers and the lay people in these churches on issues like creating job-training programs, or after-school programs for youth, or making sure that city services were fairly allocated to underserved communities," he says. "And it was in those places where I think what had been more of an intellectual view of religion deepened. "I became much more familiar with the ongoing tradition of the historic black church and its importance in the community. And the power of that culture to give people strength in very difficult circumstances, and the power of that church to give people courage against great odds. And it moved me deeply."
Who are the men of peace? Are they the men that Yahweh has degreed to lead the people of the world? Is peace such a dangerous tool?
Why is more power and control over the lives and minds of the masses, the land, and natural resources of the world so desperately sought after by the few people who currently represent the "powers that Be?" Is power and control the answer, or should they and we be seeking "JUST WORDS?"

Disenfranchisement - Interdepartmental Communication Conspiracy; Failure or A Simple Mistake?Posted
Have you, your relatives, friends, or anyone that you know ever been dropped from college enrollment registration? Have you ever been discouraged from attending higher education or knowledge gaining pursuits? If so, I think that you will find this message very interesting. How much sense does it make to issue a letter of financial acceptance and delivery confirmation and then retract said letter almost immediately? The systematic approach of dropping students from college registration roles appears to be the latest tool to "culling the herd." The targeted allotment becomes a spared expense. How many urban high school level 'baby boomers' have been discouraged from attending college and/or college preparatory schools? I'll probably never get the stats on that question. It goes without saying, many urbanite students; Black, White, Latino, Asian, and/or Bi-Racial; that think and/or thought about reaching for the higher goal, have been systematically disenfranchised and/or discouraged methodically by the powers that be; starting within the educational system. The systematic red tape and administration backlogs have choked the forward motion of our country's higher count of college level educated populace. I have personally suffered that humiliation while attending high school. At the age of about 15, I entertained the thought of transferring from the school I attended to a school of higher academics. One day during the end of the spring semester, I went to the counselors' office at school. I asked the counselor that was assigned to me, about transferring to the higher academic school. He gave me the once over and replied without viewing my school records and history. "Son, you cannot attend that school or any school of higher academic level." "You do not have the aptitude or the intelligence required to get past the test." I went along with that assumption primarily because I didn't know what to do or whom to go to for further advice. Sure, there were individuals that said, "Man, you can be anything that you want to be." That is easier said than done, especially when you could do just great working in a factory or warehouse, in those days. That is what the counselor advised me to do anyway. He said "son, go on down to the wood shop, metal shop, electric shop, print shop, and/or automobile repair shop, and learn to work with your hands." "Your kind of people are always good doing things with their hands." The jobs were plentiful in the days of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and early 80s. The 90s started to show the outsourcing of American jobs and the beginning growth of Information Technology. It also showed the beginning of the end for the factory and manufacturing workforce. Is the existence of systematic discrimination a reality? Discrimination is prevalent in Philadelphia, workers. Union and non-union, are fighting for construction contracts to work on the continuing expansion of the Philadelphia Convention Center where white union workers predominantly man the jobs. Why is it that large cities and corporations continue to espouse diversity and practice otherwise? Why is it that toy/doll manufacturers make white person-imaged dolls with clothing that is fashionable and acceptable to the status quo and the dolls that replicate or imaged to portray people of color as urbanomically correct, i.e., baggy pants with shirts and blouses that are oversized? Some people certainly would agree that the main reason is control, power, and the continuing separation of "them that's got it and them that don't." "And if you aint got it, you certainly will not get it and we will make it difficult if not impossible for you to get it!" I've been attending college for about eleven years and achieved three years of recorded formal college education. The one time that I was able to attend school, with the intention of securing the colleges' 'Certificate of Management', hoping to enhance my 'Associate Degree', the rug was pulled from underneath me. I was attending classes for the fall semester of which I spent the majority of the summer fighting to get into, only to be denied the opportunity. The college neglected to inform PHEAA that I was enrolled and attending classes. PHEAA in turn, withdrew the tuition and supplies payment due to the fact that my name was not on the schools' current enrollment listing. I was enrolled for classes at the college. I was attending classes on the scheduled evenings (4 nights a week). I have also purchased the required textbooks and received syllabi with course lessons. My participation was ongoing from the second day of classes in September 2007, until I was forced out at the end of October. Several college officials and staff assisted me with my enrollment process. One of the officials issued an apology verifying a mistake in its pre-requisite protocols. How do you think I felt after going through all of this red tape and bureaucratic non-sense, to not be allowed to attend school? I have complied with all of the requirements set forth by the directives with the exception of making contact with the Bursars Office, informing them of the transactions and receiving a payment waiver. Wasn't the Financial Aid Office supposed to do that? Do you think or feel that bigotry and racism is alive and well where you work, play, shop, and/or live? They told me that I couldn't handle academics. They told me that I couldn't go to college. They told me that I couldn't do a lot of things; but I did. Be it as it may, should anyone think that I have given up on the paper chase, think again. I will be successful in my dream, my quest of acquiring the coveted and allusive collegiate credentials, some way some how. You too can be successful. You too can be anything that you want to be. And, don't let anyone stand in your way! How would you feel if this tragedy or circumstance happened to you? Gregory V. Boulware RE: DEPRIVED OF AN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY Dear PHEAA and Ladies and Gentlemen of this correspondence: I am very angry at the way that Community College of Philadelphia has treated me. This institution has managed to derail my educational pursuits. The responsible parties, i.e., the Office of Admissions, The Office of Financial Aid, and The Office of Student Records and Registration are responsible for the curtailment of my college pursuit and financial aid assistance. Regards, Gregory V. Boulware, ASB/CS
