Would they rather suffer than change the course?

Posted

When i was a young boy i was told the story of an old dog on the porch. The story goes..." Two men were walking by an old house with a dog on the porch. The dog was moaning and groaning and making all kinds of noises. One man asked the other why is he moaning like that? The other man said he is laying on a nail. The other man said why doesn't he move? The other man aswered, I guess he isn't hurting bad enough". The moral of that story is that some will stay and suffer because they are content where they are, too lazy to move or to dumb to know that they can make a change. Question: Is America so scared of a black man that they would rather stay the course we are on and continue to suffer instead of giving this brilliant black man a chance? Why is the Presidential race even so close? Brack should have a 30 point lead, instead he has to play these crazy games. I don't know, maybe this country deserves what it gets(more terrorism, bad economy, natural disasters, overflow of illegals, food contamination; etc). Until we stop being afraid of and biased towards each other, for real, we are going to continue to suffer.

Can we save our children?

I am a career educator and I love my chosen profession. I find so much hope for our african-american children, yet I also see so much dispair. Some of our young people are lost. They seem enamored with so much trivial bullshid'. Blingin, rims, mindless uninspired rap, drugs and thuggin'. I am not being judgemental but I do know what those things will lead to...a wasted life. How can we reach out and be mentors to the young brothers of what manhood is and how can we be examples to young sista's of what being a lady is all about? I love black people, we are truly and amazing culture, but sometimes I feel like we are still in chains. What are some of the ideas or solutions we can impliment to help our young people?

With much love for my people,

Gary
