--------What Beauty is to me------- Dru Hill sang "Beauty is here name" But she is the embodiment of beauty... in it's purest form... From the marks of motherhood that have been written on her core... To the labor that shows on her fingers from the hard work she's had to maintain... The way the one corner of her mouth curls when she try's not to smile... The nape of her neck... The drape of her clothes... The fullness of her hips... The softness of her lips... The texture in her voice... The scent of her skin... The way she's 100% mother to those that she's born and 100% helpmate even when battered and worn... For she is: B old E legant A mazing U nflinching T rudging and most of all YOU *Thinking out Loud*Posted
Why are the Republicans so afraid of helping other people in their own society? The Republicans, or GOP (Great Oppressive Presence) are using the word "Socialism" now a days as if it's not already present in the American system to a degree. Does the country not have these systems in place with it's Police forces? How about Fire protection services?. How about it's enormous military? These are all perfect examples of services provided by government and funded by your tax dollars. These are what Republicans keep defining as "socialistic systems." Why is it that Americans are so afraid of servicing the health and education of the people in its society in a way that betters all of it's people and makes the country stronger in the process? Isn't that the purest form of putting "country first?" How ironic, the Republican mantra of "country first" only suites those that have the money to belong!! People, don't be fooled by Tito the builder, Joe the plumber, and Tom the milkman.... *Keep'n it Gully*Posted Rain falls upon our bodies..... we cry out....Sensuality is unleashed....sexual feelings can be a beast.... It's hard being alone....no one home.... to satisfy.....the urge and the need....4 attention....the longing for one single touch can drive a person insane....are you the one who will extinguish this internal flame....???? McCain and the GOP (short for Great Opressive Presence) continue to spew this super ignorant concept that talking to this countries enemies is a sign of weakness.....or whatever else comes to their pitiful, one tracked minds! They say talking to our enemies is out of the question. Hmmm...I wonder why? Talking to our ememies MAY bring about UNDERSTANDING! Understanding may bring about a successful move toward a lasting peace in the Middle East. John McCain is "super" old school GOP! Their mentality is....???? War equals chaos.....Chaos equals higher oil prices....Higher oil prices equals continued quarter after quarter of record breaking profits for big oil who as we know, financially supports the old school GOP! One hand washing the other yanno!!! As the saying goes, "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer..." Obvoiusly Obama is on point here in wanting to use diplomacy with the ememies the Bush administration has created over these past 7 plus years! The Bush-McCain theory/ policy hasn't worked in the past, and it certainly won't work in the future people! Just keep this in mind.....food for though...Republicans view the inhabitants of society as 3 year olds who should be seen but not heard! *Joke of the day*Posted Good joke here! Say you recently purchased a home for say....$540,000. Say it's value has dropped to $390,000 in less than six months with no sign of recovery! Your credit cards are almost maxed out and are the only thing keeping you financially afloat. Your car payments are ALMOSTequal to the amount of gas your SUV uses in a MONTH! Hmmmm, will you have to work past the age of so called retirement because of debt? In these economic times bankruptcy is not just a last resort, it is sound financial planning! Some accuse people of "choosing" bankruptcy. "Choosing?" What a poor play on a word! Americans have not opted for bankruptcy.....evil policies of the Bush Administration pushed them to it! The Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty is a landmark international treaty whose objectives are to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote co-operation in a peaceful use of nuclear energy, and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament. The treaty represents the only binding commitment in a mulitlateral treaty to the goal of disarmament by the nuclear weapon states. Opened for signature in 1968, the treaty entered into force in 1970. A total of 187 parties have joined the treaty, including the five nuclear weapon states. However the United States has persistently refused to honor this LEGAL obligation AND continues to develop NEW weapons of mass destruction in VIOLATION of the treaty, which has as a result, encouraged other nations to ACQUIRE or seek out how to obtain nuclear weapons! See where I wanna go with this? Iran and Syria are not the only ones to have tried to join the nuclear club. North Korea has a small arsenal at it's disposal. Israel, India, and Pakistan have joined the club, sometimes with the tacit cooperation of the United States. The bottom line is that the United States is in large part responsible for the recent proliferation of weapons of mass destruction because of it's failure to honor the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty that it signed and ratified. The GOP (AKA the Great Oppressive Presence) will try to use the fear card in this election. They'll tell the country that the boogie man is gonna get you if you don't vote us in. But beware.....and I hope I shed a little light on how the boogie man got out of the virus vault in the first place. Tell them to talk to you about gas prices.....food cost, the mortgage debacle, job security, energy cost, education, affordable health care ....Oh I forgot....who has time to worry about that??? My bad! OK, there are some who feel that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright says things that are over the top, said from emotion and the need to be center stage rather than from reason. But let me tell you this, the man obviously has a fine mind and great accomplishments to boot, and the ego needs to match. Problems had to develop right? But Rev. Wright said one thing I do consider a central tenet of religion: Religion should speak truth to power. Now, I know that some feel that religion should identify with power, but I've never been comfortable with that kind of religion. When religion identifies with power, it loses its focus on the needs and fears of the individual. So, religion that identifies with power loves the spreading of democracy....religion that speaks truth to power identifies with the suffering of the innocent who die because of the need to spread democracy by warfare. Religion that identifies with power accepts that some will be in an underclass, hungry and poor.....religion that speaks truth to power says that this is unacceptable! Religion that identifies with power tells the powerful that they earned their power--maybe it was God's will or their drive and heroic personalities; religion that speaks truth to the powerful reminds them that maybe it was just dumb luck or maybe it was just their good fortune to be born into a favored family or social class of pigmentation. Religion that speaks truth to power reminds the community that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely! Rev.Wright was correct to inform Barack Obama that if he becomes president (which I hope he does) it would be the responsibility of religion to henceforth call him to account. The seperation of church and state are necessary, not because the state must be antagonistic to religion, but because the state that funds or promotes religion controls and directs religion. Religion that identifies with power eats at the lavish tableof power; religion that speaks truth to power knows it must avoid this corrosive invitation. Religion does not have to be ascetic or proudly suffering, but it must remember that it needs to identfy with the least gifted and most needy among us. It must push from the ugly depths, not lead from the glorious heights!!! What could you buy with $6 billion? You could finally rebuild the New Orleans neighborhoods that Katrina destroyed. For almost six years, you could provide a daily meal for every one of the 36 million Americans who live below the poverty line. Or, you could give all of it to the Pakistani government in the form of military aid and accomplish absolutely NOTHING! For more than seven years, billions of American expense reimbursements of about $90 million a month have sluiced directly into the Pakistani treasury, instantly becoming "sovereign government funds." The United States has no control over how the money is used, though all of it, about $6 billion so far, is intended to pay for counter-insurgency operations against al-Qaida and Taliban sanctuaries in the tribal areas of northwestern Pakistan. After seven years, al-Qaida has established a terrorist-training and planning center there. The 2008 National Intelligence Estimate said al-Qaida "has regenerated it's attack capability and secured a safe haven in Pakistan." Meantime, the Taliban have begun applying fundamentalist Islamic law in the tribal areas they now control. They have shut down schools for girls, closed barber shops and music stores, just as they did in Afghanistan when they ruled that country. Bet you wonder where I'm going with this right? Well, like so many other failed programs launched during the Bush presidency, this one will likely chug along untouched until a new president takes office (unless it's McCain) waisting an additional $900million along the way. Do we wanna go thru this for another 4 to 8 years? |
