Fathers Day Reflections Before I Head Out To Do Some Side-Jobs

Posted

Fathers Day was a few weeks ago and on that day I had to work, being the low man in my new position I couldn't refuse to come in. I received a call from my oldest son and I called my dad that day.... I'm blogging this because something strange happened while I delivered blood products to the hospitals that day. I was just getting to Mt. Clemens General Hospital, before I got out of my van I witnessed an Asian man pleading with a police officer to take him home and I heard the officer tell him No because you stay to far! I couldn't help but notice that someone had beaten the hell out of the Asian man and he was dressed in hospital garb with absolutely nothing on under it! This man had no shoes or socks on and he was speaking perfect English with tears in his eyes begging for a ride home while trying his best to keep himself covered. The police officer got into his squad car and left. I couldn't believe my eyes or ears!!!! If that had been me I would have been arrested immediately. A cab driver pulled into the emergency entrance and the Asian man went right to work on him too and told the cab driver that he had money to pay but had to get home first and the cab driver refused to give into him. By that time I was heading into the emergency door to make my delivery and the cab driver walked in behind me headed to the visitor waiting room with the Asian man following him still trying to make his case and the driver just ignored him and started calling the name of the person who summoned the cab. At that time the Asian man told the cab driver that the name he was calling was his name and the cab driver turned around an started to walk out of the door, thats when I stepped in an asked the cab driver how much it would cost to take this man home? The cab driver told me that it would take $35 the get him home give or take a few dollars! All I had to my name was $55 dollars in my pocket and I gave the cab driver $40 to take the Asian man home to his family. The Asian man thanked me as he wiped the tears from his blacken eyes and badly bruised face I told him you're most welcome God Bless you... I stepped back and watched him walk towards the cab to go home to his family. I was moved to do it by something and I didn't feel bad or regretful after I did it even though I get sick of seeing people begging for this or for that all the time, I just did it then put my wallet back in my pocket and continued my journey towards transfusion services. Leaving the hospital I made it to my van, put the dolly into it and closed the door before a nurse walked up to me and said thank you for what you did, we were all watching and hoping that someone would help that man and you did! He was badly beaten as you could clearly see and he checked himself out of the hospital against our advice and at that point we were powerless to help him in any way because it would have cost us our jobs even if we used our own money. I told her that had that been me I would wish that someone would do the same for me, because it brothered me greatly to see that man begging to go home to his family and it appeared to fall own deaf ears, on Fathers Day..... The Nurse said that everyone was watching, hoping and praying that someone would help him because we couldn't and God does answer prayers. I felt like I made a difference that day.

Judge To Hillarys Ex-Pastor: 'You Lied' PLEASE PASS THIS ON !!!

When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

But as the former Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March, Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he testified.

?As a minister of God, you got on the stand and you lied,? Dwyer told Procanick, the 54-year-old former pastor of Resurrection Assembly of God church on Kirkland Avenue.

A jury found Procanick guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Dwyer said he believes Procanick was being honest when he told the girl's mother in a recorded phone call that he was wrong to caress the girl's body while she was trying to fall asleep.

However, Procanick instead testified in court that he did nothing wrong other than spend time alone with the girl, who was a friend of the family, Dwyer noted.

If Procanick had accepted responsibility from the beginning instead of straying from the truth, Dwyer said, Procanick would likely have faced a lesser punishment and possibly avoided jail time.

The truth would have set you free, Dwyer said. You had a chance to be a man and say, 'I made a mistake.' But as always, the cover-up is much worse than the original crime.

Procanick's defense attorney, George Aney, noted that Procanick still received a sentence less than the maximum, which was up to seven years in prison.

It's considerably less than the maximum, but considerably more than he deserved, Aney said.

Aney also took issue with how Dwyer and the victim's mother used harsh language to attack Procanick's Christian values.

You are just an evil man, the victim's mother said Friday in court. You lied, and you had your wife lie. And all these people who showed up in court to support you, did you lie to them, too

The Observer-Dispatch does not identify sex-abuse victims and their families.
The victim's mother said her daughter is still waking up scared at night because of what happened, and she continues to see a therapist. The young girl also feels that everybody is mad at her, the mother said.

Assistant District Attorney Doug DeMarche Jr. then read a note written by the girl, who did not appear in court Friday.

Bill made me sad and scared, DeMarche read. I thought I did something wrong, because I trusted him.

Dwyer gave Procanick an opportunity to speak in court, but Procanick had nothing to say to the victim and her family.

Aney did not plan to speak in court, he told Dwyer, but he felt obligated to respond to what the victim's mother said about Procanick and his wife.

I believe she shows her own lack of Christianity by referring to people as liars, Aney said.

After the sentencing, Aney further commented about what was said in court.

I respect Judge Dwyer for what he said this morning, but I have to say I disagreed with him, Aney said. I have every right to express my feelings, and my feelings are that we are not permitted to call anybody a liar. That's a judgment someone higher than I makes.

DeMarche, however, said he can understand why the girl's mother spoke of Procanick in such harsh terms.

She had a lot of faith and trust in Mr. Procanick, and he violated that trust, DeMarche said. I think she's justified in being angry.

IF A PASTOR IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY THEY KEEP!

When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Okay, so now that Bill and Hillary Clinton's pastor has been convicted of child molestation, will we see the same furor directed at Hillary that Obama has had to endure these last
few weeks?

IF A CANDIDATE IS KNOWN BY THE PASTOR THEY KEEP

Then you need to email this article to everyone you know. Here the CLINTON'S Pastor is convicted of child molestation. So, if Obama bears the guilt for his pastor's comments, then Hillary has to be equally tainted by this guy's crimes. More to come.
Sincerely, Willie Faison

The Lord is my real boss, and I shall not want. He gives me peace, when chaos is all around me, He gently reminds me to pray and do all things without murmuring and complaining.

He reminds me that He is my source and not my job. He restores my sanity everyday and guides my decisions that I might honor Him in all that I do.

Even though I face absurd amounts of e-mails, system crashes, unrealistic deadlines, budget cutbacks, gossiping co-workers, discriminating supervisors and an aging body that doesn't cooperate every morning, I still will not stop---for He is with me! His presence, His peace, and His power will see me through.

He raises me up, even when they fail to promote me. He claims me as his own even when the company threatens to let me go. His Faithfulness and love is better than any bonus check.

His retirement plan beats any 401k there is! When it's all said an done, I'll be working for Him a whole lot longer and for that, I BLESS HIS NAME!!!!!!

BEATTHETRAININDETROIT Weekly Mountain Biking Rides Start 4/05/08 I'll Be There, Join Us!

Posted

Hi Folks,
This year will be a very special year for the Beatthetrain rides. Not only is it our fourth year running weekly Saturday morning bike rides from Historic Fort Wayne but we are really excited about the ride and all the opportunities to volunteer and have fun. One of the fun things is our weekly tire raffle. You will have the chance to win the "official" set of tires of the BTT Ride. Please be present for more info.
The rides will start at 6am Saturday April 5th when security opens the gates of the fort for bikers only. The riders will leave the gates of the fort at 6:30 am sharp. No exceptions! Please remember its easier to be 20 minutes early then 2 minutes late. There is no "15 minute rule". This year because of the progression of the ride there will be a new set of "rules" never before heard of on the BTT ride. These will be made available weekly before each ride. The ride will include several route changes and variations due to construction and other projects happening around our city. Because of the Gateway Project I-75 from the north will not be available. Please take I-94 to the Livernois exit then south as far as you can til you reach the gates of the fort. From the Downriver area I-75 is still a good option as long as you exit Livernois and not further.
We would also like to invite anyone to join us at the Fort for the Fort Wayne Work Days. We are having one on the 5th so even if you do not plan on riding you can still come and help out during the work day. BTT has been helping the Coalition with clean up projects and specifically keeping our parking lot clean and safe. For a list of service opportunities at the Fort please refer to the Coalition website.
As always thanks so much for all the support BeatthetraininDetroit has received from the past years and we look forward to seeing old friends and always making new ones. Please come prepared and represent your cycling group for this special ride. This year will be a good time to find out what all the early morning excitement is all about!
See you soon!
