How We Dream In ColorPosted
Welcome! Join us as we celebrate the final week of Black History Month. Ladies, we have lived and learned the many lessons that life has to offer, from the good times to the bad. We have learned to cope with our womanhood and embrace our heritage in a diverse world that has so much to offer us as African-American women. Give yourselves PROPS for we have come a LONG way in the struggle to where we stand today. This week we are highlighting "US"...that's right! We are proud to feature a few of our fellow members who have shared their stories, ideas, and thoughts.
![]() WOW! This was amazing! Of the many presentations that celebrate our heritage this one did it the BEST!!!! KUDOS!!!! ![]() Hi, I am a 56 mother of one daughter, four grandkids and two great-grandkids. As I look back on my life for so long I had low self-esteem, I found t from years of visits to psyh hospitals and therapy it was a result from my brother molesting me when i was seven, eights years old. H e would always tell me that if I didn't do what he asked he wouldn't be my friend, so I lived my life using sex for someone to love me and many. many times being used and left alone. I use alcohol and drugs until 1991. I lost many jobs but by the grace of God I was able to stay on one job for 18 years and I retired on disability. When I finally started loving myself and feeling good about myself, I was able to help my daughter and my granddaughter by explaining to them the things I went through in life and praying that they do not make the same mistakes I did in life and so far it's all good with the Grace of God, my faith is unmovable. Since I never finished anything in my life, I enrolled in school to get my GED and further my education. I feel with all my heart and soul it is never, never to late to go for your dreams. God Bless each and everyone of you. ![]() Hello sisters thank you so much for adding me as a friend. I am truly honored and blessed to be a part of such a positive movement. Stay golden ladies. ![]() Yes I am still working hard to make my dream(s) come true! I have overcome the 'basic black downfalls' of African-Americans, drugs, too much sex, incarceration, abuse, etc. I have gone through the penal system and the educational system, on the inside and from the outside...I am now struggling to reach my dream of being an art producer and teach young men and women the value of art in their lives as a recreation, as an instrument from GOD, and as away to maintain sanity in a cold society. I am fifty years old and still trying to maintain my dream for my grown children to continually be productive members in society free of the worries of this world but capable of dealing with all the issues forehand. I have grandchildren, so my dreams can never be quite fulfilled because I am always focusing on helping others to achieve their unknown goals and dreams ![]() Thanks for the invite!!!!!!! It's so good to know those of us who are real, are not alone..........Whether it's spiritual, motivational, or emotional we as women need to keep in mind we are not ALONE. t takes a lot for some of us to let people in, & some not much @ all. We should never loose track of who we are. Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend, Phenomenal Women who are not afraid to dream............ ![]() I have many accomplishments in my life from earning a BA in public relations at 43 years old, discovered my talent in writing and have a number of published articles to winning a table decorating contest.
