Select your favorite "daddy" book or books that are most meaningful to you and your children. Give the books you have purchased as Fathers' Day "gifts from you" to your newborn baby, toddler, or preschooler.

When your books are delivered, take out time right away and read the father-child stories with your children. Watch what happens. You will quickly discover the books you have given to your children as gifts will be returned to you as another "gift" transformed. Together these two strategies bring true meaning to your child. New readers begin picture reading until they are able to decode written words and build phonemic awareness.
