M.L. King Jr. CelebrationPosted Hey everybody today we talked about how MLK has effected our lives. We discussed how we as a black people don't support one another. Also how we don't feel it is necessary to learn how to speak properly. (NOT WHITE) We talked about intimidation and how a lot black folk think they have arrived when we are accepted by other races. I stated, "I ARRIVED WHEN I WAS BORN AND I WILL BE HERE UNTIL JESUS COMES OR UNTIL HE CALLS ME HOME TO HEAVEN". Brother Neal. I talked about being confident in yourself, loving yourself, respecting yourself, because if you do these things you can make a greater impact in your community. Know who are you are. Study your history. Glean from the negitives in your life and turn them into teachable moments. Talk to people who accually went through the King experience. Start appreciating the people that help pave the way for you to have equal rights in this country before you have a bad experience. Most of us think that we are not going to have bad experiences that would cause us to think about King and everyone else the lost their lives for our equality. I want to end this blog with an excerpt from Dr. King's accepteance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize, "I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and cluture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down men other-centered can build up". Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Talking about everythingPosted
Hey everybody thank you for checking in on Real Talk with Brother Neal. I want to know what you think about women in the ministry. I have observed all my life how men and women have made a difference as it relates to women in the ministry. I have been to churches where the women have to stand at a different podium then the men or they have to stand on the floor of instead of the pulpit. I have observe jealousy of husbands because his wife is gifted to preach the Word of God. I have talk to women who say women should not preach at all. The ironic thing about this whole situation is that women out number men in many areas, the church, work place, neighborhoods etc. God use a women to bring Jesus into this world. If you ask me, if it wasn't for women there would not be a church. As a matter of Fact the Church in the bible is fashioned after a woman. The Bride of Christ. I am under the Pastoral care of a woman and I am comfortable naturally and spiritually. I am an assoicate minister in my church and nothing is taking away from my manhood. I know that there are some women who have been spiritually abused my the church out of anger they start a church or mission if you please and as a result they carry this mad bossy chip on their shoulders. It is really sad in this day and time that there is still a lot of this kind of stuff going on in the body of Christ. There are so many examples in the the Word of God of how He used who He wants. There is neither male of female in God. I could really go on and on with this blog concerning women in the ministry, but I am going to leave it alone and give you a chance to post your comments. If you agree and if you don't agree. I want to know. Pray Body of Christ. |
