Rev. Aaron Davis was a Methodist circuit rider. Born a slave , he lived through the Civil War. After he was freed with the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, he and his wife Martha started their family.  He rode the circuit and built churches across Mississippi for over 25 years. This story is based on oral history and family memories of his grand-daughter.
