Did anyone else catch the irony of this sordid mess?

Dear Barack Obama,
I respect that fact that you are a highly educated black man -- much props -- a Harvard degree is an admirable thing.
But let's drop the B.S. and talk man to man -- BLACK MAN TO BLACK MAN, nuccka to nuccka, OK?
A 2-year old can tell you -- to get America back on it's feet -- you start with the feet! Not the head!
Bailing out corporation, automakers, banks and Wall Street does nothing (as the current maliase clearly shows) -- YOU MUST GET PEOPLE BACK WORKING!
What does it matter if the banks have capital? What does it matter if the banks have money to loan, GM, Ford and Chrysler has money to continue operations, Wall Street has money to pay executive salaries and bonuses -- if 13,000 people are showing up at job fairs, unemployed, scratching for any and every possible job opening, just to pay bills and keep from being evicted? To heal America, start with the feet -- we are so myopic in this lie called America that we forget basic history and lessons of the past -- before we were born, there was a thing called the GREAT DEPRESSION -- how did America recover?
WPA? Works Program Administration? Job creation! WORK! JOBS! Get people back into the workforce -- create jobs = business flourish = purchasing power parity = thriving, vibrant economy = a healthy society.
Don't believe me?
Ask the THOUSANDS of job fair attendees standing on line for HOURS in NYC, Atlanta, Miami, etc. waiting in suits and ties with thousands of others for non-existent jobs.

What would Dr. King see, if he were alive and drove down his namesake streets? And the estimated THREE MILLION BLACK FOLK going to the Inauguration expects BARACK OBAMA to clean up the vacant lots, to tear down the burned-out buildings, to find employment for the BLACK MEN standing idly on the corners, to tear down the thousands of LIQUOR STORES and pay-day loan stores and currency exchanges and check-cashing establishments and pawn shops and mobile phone stores in business one day and closed the next? On most MLK Streets and Blvds, that weed-strewn lot, that abandoned crack house has been standing since 1968...and NO ONE in the BLACK COMMUNITY has lifted a finger, has made any effort, in 41 years, to clean up their own street? After the Inauguration, then what? On Wednesday, January 21, 2009, the day after Barack Obama has taken the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States and as the first BLACK MAN to be elected as President of the United States, then what? After the Inaugural Parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, after the Inaugural Balls, after the tears of joy, after over THREE MILLION BLACK PEOPLE clamoring and jostling to get a view of Barack Obama, then what? Will they go back to their neighborhoods and stop BLACK MEN from shooting other BLACK MEN in the face? Will they go back to their neighborhoods and better the educational choices for black children? Will they go back to their communities and visit the doctor more? Will they go back to their neighborhoods and tear down the crack houses and abandoned houses and weed-strewn vacant lots that line literally EVERY Martin Luther King Blvd. or Martin Luther King, Jr. Street that runs through practically every BLACK community in America? Will they go back and shun the pay-day loan stores and check-cashing establishments and currency exchanges that proliferate in the BLACK communities, or will they use that THREE MILLION BLACK PEOPLE strength in numbers to finally, at last, after 700 years in this country, establish a BLACK BANK (nationally) or a BLACK HEDGE FUND and pool their money for economic empowerment? Or will Wednesday, January 21, 2009 will be the start of another 700 years of what has already been for BLACK PEOPLE in America? http://www.blackplanet.com/news/article_comments.html?news_item_id=430413 A film by Juan Laguna, shot in both Senegal and Europe.
