Nov. 4th 2008 9:46 P.M I'm sure by now you have heard, or seen PRESIDENT OBAMA become the 44th president of OUR country. Our country, man...for me, it hasn't felt like a country for the people, by the people. For so long it was more of the Divided States of America not the United States as it should be. This means so much. Not just the fact that he is a black man of African decent in Amercia now leading this country. Add to the fact that of all the women he could have chosen to be his wife, he chose a BLACK woman. A sistah, strong, confident, educated ,courageous, and as he said "the rock of his family". She is the First LADY (CHECK THE WORD LADY!!!) A picture of elegance, strength, humility and wit. Truly a queen. His 2 little princess looking like you and me. Looking like my daughter and little cousins. Placed together they are a picture of unity. Altering a historical image of what black love and family represents. The world was and is watching, waiting with anticipation, to see what and how America is going to come back on top. Now seeing that America's actions are in line with her words. For the people, by the people. Our voices were heard. Our prayers were answered. Our time is now! No excuse, no excuse, no excuse! What do you seek people of this great land? What do you desire? What is keeping you from achieving it? Do you realize that we have truly stepped into a brand new season? That the Holy Bible says "The last will be first, and the first will be last." (Gotta get the scripture 4 ya but it's there ; ) The minority is now the leader of the majority.It's our time. We may never get the 40 acres and a mule, but you know what we do have that can't be taken away or taxed? Hope, inspiration, courage, follow through, and a new President that resembles US. Not just in race, but in background. Coming from a single parent home. Raised by his grandparents. Ridiculed because he was different. A President for the people, placed in office by the people.
