Obama To Sign Order Seeking To Speed Up Export Approvals

To avoid another controversy about the character of Satan bearing a physical resemblence to President Obama in the upcoming religious film, the filmmakers have gone out of their way to http://www.obamastudentloanfor giveness.net/ edit the devil"s scenes out of "Son of God," which is based on the TV miniseries "The Bible." "It gives me great pleasure to tell you that the devil is on the cutting-room floor," producer Roma Downey told the Hollywood Reporter ."This is now a movie about Jesus, the son of God, and the devil gets no more screen time." PHOTOS: Celebrities by The Times "Son of God," which opens Feb. 28 from 20th Century Fox , is a two-hour film largely culled from the 10-hour miniseries, which originally aired on the History Channel last year. "The Bible" was a huge ratings hit, and it attracted further attention in March when a number of viewers, including conservative pundit Glenn Beck , noticed a resemblance between Obama and Mohamen Mehdi Ouzaani, the actor who plays Satan in the miniseries. In light of the popularity of "The Bible" among conservative Christians, as well as Obama"s relative unpopularitywiththe same demographic, some viewers wondered whether the film was making a political statement via its casting. When Obama"s appointee to Argentina, Noah Bryson Mamet, was asked by Republican Senator Marco Rubio if hed ever been there, he said he hadnt had the chance. Jon Stewart asked on "The Daily Show" if there was a rule against having an ambassador set foot in the country before being appointed so as not to ruin the surprise. The openness with which this practice takes place belies how crude and coarse an exchange it really is. Obama isn"t criticized for appointing so many lightweights. He"s criticized for exceeding the informal quota of 30 percent. In an earlier age, Congress acted against a reckless spoils system. In the 19th century, generals were chosen like ambassadors, not for their competence but by patronage.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has said he also wants to change immigration laws and issued Republican principles that, among other things, would permit those immigrants to gain legal status in the U.S. But he has since indicated that any legislation has little chance of passing before this years November congressional elections. Obama will likely face questions from Pena Nieto on the prospects for passing such an overhaul because of the economic effects of immigration on both sides of the border. This is one issue which is probably more relevant to the U.S.-Mexico relationship than to the Canadian-U.S. relationship but which may come up in the summit because again labor mobility is such an important issue, said Arturo Sarukhan, a former Mexican ambassador to the U.S. Copyright 2014 The Associated Press.

Indeed, Mr. Obama in recent weeks has boasted of how 2014 will be a year of action in which hell work without Congress wherever possible, and denied that he is abusing executive authority. There is no question that this president has been judicious in his use of executive action, executive orders, White House press secretary Jay Carney said last week, correctly pointing out Mr. Obama has issued fewer executive orders than former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton did at this point in their presidency. Critics charge its the not the number of actions, but rather the type and scope, with Mr.

Charter"s offer of roughly $133 a share in cash and stock has been rejected by Time Warner Cable as it held out for a price of $160, which it has said is reflective of where an asset of its size and scope should trade in a deal. Patrick Fallon | Bloomberg | Getty Images A field technician for Time Warner Cable, prepares to clean and check the connection for a WiFi hotspot. While there are no caps on the ownership of cable subs, Comcast had been thought to be lukewarm to a deal to buy all of Time Warner Cable due to its concern about being subjected to an onerous consent decree from the FCC similar to the one it signed upon acquiring NBC Universal. Comcast, which is widely considered under-leveraged in the cable industry, will nonetheless use no cash in the acquisition, which is expected to be officially announced Thursday morning U.S. time.

5 ETF myths that keep investors away

"Different products have different structures, and they include different securities," Nadig said. Consider this: An ETF that claims to invest in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) may actually not have any Russia exposure.
