Releasing the Power, Blessing and Breakthrough of Revelation

From the National Democratic Convention Part 2

Posted

This morning at the NJ delegation breakfast meeting the state delegates agreed to dispense with the roll call tonight and present a unified state delegation for Barack Obama.

This was on the heels of the speech made by Hilary Clinton at last night's convention. She made a passionate appeal to her supporters to rally behind Obama calling him her candidate for President.

She left no doubt she is going to work hard for a victory for Obama.

Democrats are excited about the future with Barack Obama as President.

The alternative is four more years of Bush like policies or four more months. The crowd chose four months.

A labor union leader that spoke this morning talked about the living conditions of the people he leads. Foreclosures, the price of food and gas, healthcare, safe working conditions etc. He spoke of these things in the context of why some of his union members were not going to vote for Obama now that Sen. Clinton was out of the race. He said some were voting for McCain because Obama was black. His answer to his constituents was a very colorful description of cow manure.

Would you let the ethnicity or gender of an individual stop you from voting for them as president.

I am one black man who will vote McCain in November. I find it sad how black people used demogoguery to steal the election from Hillary Clinton. The called Bill Clinton a racist. They even joined the choir of sexist white men on MSNBC and CNN and continued to hate on Hillary. Black people think that they are always owed something and they always want people to pull their weight. Seventy percent of black kids are born out of wed lock. Sixty-four percent of the new HIV cases were black women. Black people are inherently sexist. Black men are irresponsible. They call their women "%#&@$!es". Now they want a black president.

I AM VOTING FOR MCCAIN AND I HOPE HE WINS. Black people are only voting for Obama because he is black and they would resort to lowdown dirty tactics to get him elected. Obama will lose and the headlines will read "Hillary wins afterall" Thanks to the stupid black peoples.

I am just curious if anyone is really seeking God on who to select as a candidate. Are we as Christians going to compromise what the bible clearly mandates? Yes history has been made - praise be to God. What is sad is that people are choosing a candidate because of their gender or race and not on the issues or more importantly whether or not it lines up with the word of God. We can debate and justify these politicians' agendas - but in the end is it what God has directed us to do? Have we as the Body of Christ lost the Spirit of Discernment? Doesn't the bible clearly state that even the elect shall be deceived?

Sincerely,

Beloved Truth

I would like to respond to comments previously posted. Monte_Brown's comments are so full of anger, hatred and bitterness that I won't even take the time here to respond. Now, Beloved Truth, as a Christian myself, I understand your point of view. When one truly loves Christ and has a relationship with Him, it is important that we have the heart of God at all times. I USED to think the way you do but it has changed slightly and I will tell you why. In the last presidential race, I was looking at issues - abortion, gay marriages - were the main issues I was concerned with, especially since I have small children. Because of my concerns, I voted for Bush.

Now...4 years later, I am looking at the state that our country is in and am looking at the "changes" of the issues that were my concern. I have actually seen an INCREASE. Why? Bush worked the "evangelicals" in the last race, knowing that gay marriages was a concern for us. The U.S. has had more gay marriages within the last 4 years than ever before and they are still increasing. Abortions? It hasn't slowed down a bit, has it? I think not.

It comes down to this: sometimes we, as Christians, can be so religious and naive with our heads in the sand (or the bible in this case) that we can STILL be deceived. Our religious beliefs can at times cause us to be "spooky spiritual" that we're not logical and cannot see things the way they truly are. We can be so stuck on "issues" of the Bible that we are not looking at the entire picture of truth - POLITICIANS LIE to get into office. Bush hasn't done anything (to my knowledge) to prevent gay marriages but he used it to win the "evangelical" vote 4 years ago. We're so stuck on voting for the "issues" of the bible when we should be LIVING the principles of the bible. Being a living example of the Word of God outweighs voting someone into office and sitting around waiting for them to uphold the standards of the Bible.

I have come to the conclusion that I will allow myself to look at each candidate individually and use discernment and logic to vote for who I believe is the right candidate. After I vote, I'm okay because I realize that ultimately GOD is in control and His purpose WILL BE DONE!!! Regardless of who's voted in, I TRUST God to take care of me. I do my part by voting and praying; however, my trust is and will always remain in God, not who is voted in the White House.

Just sharing my thoughts. Be Blessed.

NO!!! Race had nothing to do with my choices.
The presidential nominee for the democratic party, in my opinion along with his vp running mate are perfect choices for the highest seats in the United States. I wasn't swayed to select Senator Obama because he is an 1st decendent African-American, it was because out of all of the available choices he shined. Senator Joe Biden has been my favorite every since the Supreme Court Justice appointee Clarence Thomas and Professor Anita Hill's inquisition. I loved the way he would look at the ones in question-look at the facts-look back at the ones in question and make a firm statement that wasn't swayable. He shines also. I believe that we are trained in the way that we should go by direct and indirect influences and Senator Obama as well as attorney Mrs. Michelle Obama are quite the internationals. They remind me of a modern day "Camelot-Couple', like the Late Former President and 1st lady John Fitzgerald and Jacqueline Kennedy. Very Chic but believe in the grass roots as well. Senator and Biden's Son was very impressive during the convention. I look forward to seeing those families sworn in on January 2009. Smile
