Black Folks Rules For Inauguration

Posted

This weekend will be a historic even for African Americans, hundreds of thousands of African Americans will convene on Washington DC, chocolate city, to celebrate the first inauguration of a black president. Not only will Obama be showcased to the country and the world but so will the African Americans who come to support him. While the vast majority of African Americans will come to peacefully and respectfully celebrate Barack Obama's extraordinary achievement we must do all in our power to make sure that we are represented as the intelligent, loving brave people we are. We can not let a few bad apples spoil the celebration. This is not the Greekfest, Homecoming, or All Star Weekend. Your favorite sports team didn't just won the championship, this is a turning point in American history. Here are some of the rules that we should follow in order to make this a sucessfull inauguration for Obama and African Americans 1. No fighting. If someone steps on your 200 dollar new Barack Obama dunks, let it slide. If you step on someone's shoes, apologize. If you see your cousin Kenny who owes you a hundred bucks and has been ducking you, don't confront him, you'll see him later. Now is not the time. Any fights involving blacks will be blown out of proportion by the media, we don't need to sully the image of black people . 2. No Disrespecting Women. There will be thousands of attractive African American females out there. We should all take Barack Obama's example and treat our women as respectfully as Barack treats Michelle. While it is perfectly fine to approach an attractive woman for conversation, there is no need to be disrespectful about it. Please don't use the b word or h word when approaching females or are in their vicinity. Also we do not need to refer to women's body parts when complimenting them. If a woman has an attractive figure, rather than commenting on their breasts or behind. you can tell her she has a nice physique and obviously takes good care of herself. Under no circumstances should any women be touched or groped. You don't need to grab a woman's arm or any other part of her body to get her attention. If she's interested, she'll talk to you. If a friend of yours is being rude or disrespectful, check him on it. If you try and talk to a woman and she is not interested, that does not mean that she is stuck up, stank, bourgie or a b-word. Perhaps she is already involved or is simply not interested. If a woman is with a man, despite how attractive she may be, there is no excuse to approach or comment about her appearance. if Michelle and Barack walked by would you try and hollar at Michelle or talk about her booty? If someone hollars at your girl, let him know that she is with you politely. If you hollar at someone's girl and she's with some one politely apologize. 3. No Drugs. In my belief there is nothing wrong with smoking marijuana, however many people do. I realize for many there would be nothing better than to be high as Obama takes the oath of office, or to be high during the many celebrations. Still people will be bringing their children and probably don't want their kids inhaling second hand marijuana smoke. Also police will be around and we don't need to give them any more excuses to lock us up. If you do smoke marijuana, try and be as discreet as possible. If necessary you could make marijuana brownies or cookies to provide the same effect without being noticeable or smoke in the comfort of your own hotel room, car or the house of whoever you may be staying with. Although true and right on point, isn't it a shame that we have to give examples on what is considered to be socially acceptable behavior. Whatever the case, I'm glad that you did :-)

Peace and Blessings to you.

It is not about Color. All classes, and races have been descriminated @ some point in the evolution of humanity. Celebrating a person who because of color, rather than his accomplishments is ludicrous. Has anyone forgotten his Mother is Caucasion? Father is Kenyan <Black>. He is by all means Mulatto. Not just Black. He has done nothing but lie to <all> no matter thier creed, or race. What has he done for Main Street? What change did he do/make when 1 Million Dollars of tax payer monies were spent on his NYC Date because of a previous promise made to his Wife while he was a Junior Senator from Illinois? Why not on his Dime while a Junior Senator from Illinois when he made the promise ? What "Change" was, or has been realized? None. Let's be real. Color should not be centerstage whether it be George Bush, or Barack Obama. What is most important is that <We The People> make sure those elected into office keep thier promises, or Have a Tea Party ! As a matter of fact, Obama "ignored" the 1 million marchers in Washinton D C against healthcare , and his cronies are moving forward burying US in more DEBT that your Great-Great-Grandchildren cannot, and will not fathom. A job, or contract should be awarded based on the ability/merit to perform. Period!! I look forward to hearing from all.............

You know some people just won't give us (Blacks, African Americans, People of Colors) ours just dos. We build the South with slavery.... the country through segregation and jim crow....after fighting for....loosing some of ours great brothers and sisters....we won ours equal rights (desegregation)....and to the present day we are continuously contributing to this Nation. People, wouldn't it be a Great Nation, if we would have had that in the beginning.

this country is so sad...they look at color, made me sick when in school dmw etc..asking you to put your race...color...first of all the president is NOT just black is MIXED ,but he is labeled as BLACK....the true is America is still racist,i come from europe where we dont label races by color but nationality, i have a mix daughter ,and she had problem with black girls, calling her white not and NEVER she had problem with the boys, and white kids used to brake her black barbies sayng black are ugly,,she came cry home from school one day her eyes was red and had a mark on her throat,a black girl try to chocke her to death ,she didn't difend herself cause i told her to don tfight back ,we are christian, that changed my mind, and told me they bully her cause of her race, and asking me with tears in her eyes,-mommy what color am i ?- i answer you are the COLOR OF LOVE don't never be ashamed for who you are-,be proud of her 2 beautiful races black and italian,,,so she became confident and stand up for herself,i also told her about a great guy name martin luther king that he had a dream..that one day...well finally the dream became real ...black and white get together ,interacial couple ,kids, kids born by love ,not racism, now we all have a mix president, but both of the races some are still rival, the president obama was chosen by God,i heard say from white that he is the antichrist,i stand up for him,God use me the day, this racial thing got to stop and people need to recognize that mixed people are not to be label black,[not that is a bad thing]... like halle berry, van disel, vanessa williams, biancee, tyson the model, tyger woods, miriah carey, rihanna, jessica alba and list go on ....but all race need to be just american, this is not my country but people should fight together for freedoom, what i learn from God and life that is only 2 races here in the world...evil and good....we are just brother and sisters created by God !!!

Sorry I am just getting back to my black planet. I know I am a year late, but I am really bowing down to you, on this RESPECT FOR BLACK WOMEN in this piece. If ALL black men thought like you...there would be no single mothers. There wouldn't be 5 kids to 3 babymamas/man. That's my opinion but also fact in my neighborhood.
