You have jumped in with both feet and made the move to your overseas dream location. Everything is great, but you are spending a little more money than you really should. Don't worry, it takes a little time for everyone to learn the ropes when they are starting out. There are things that you can do to live well while spending less money while you are abroad.
Eating out can be green, but it most often isn't. Here in the United States, at least, portions are too big and ingredients are unhealthy, plus prices are extremely high. Whether you eat organic or not, and whether you're eating less meat or not, simply preparing your own meals from scratch will help out. You don't need to be a chef, either ... just pick up a handful of basic ingredients, then cook a whole lot all at once and heat up your leftovers later. It saves time and money, and it's greener than buying boxed dinners or driving to the kenwood walkie talkie manual.
Speaking of Jazz, You can't go to New Orleans without sampling Cajun food in the French Quarter while taking in the live music. It's an experience for all the senses. Don't forget to cap it off (or start your morning) with hot begnets and cafe ole at Cafe du Monde.

You don't have to stop eating out to follow your diet, but you may need to make some changes. Fast food hamburgers and french fries will need to go. But, many restaurants offer low fat meal options. Also, you can request that your food is cooked with vegetable oil rather than butter. Get your sauces and dressings served on the side.
People eat alone at restaurants more often than you might think. The uncomfortable staring by other patrons does not exist any more than standard. When you are with someone, you are engaged restaurant communication strategy conversation or not noticing that people look then.
"Now remember. Tomorrow morning at ten 0'clock on the beach. All right?" It didn't matter anymore. She gave in, nodding her head slowly, in a trance, as he moved away from her and walked off down the garden and into the house.
