National Action Movement: Measuring the Movement

The last day of the National Action Network’s annual convention in New York will feature a session planned by the Reverend Al Sharpton.  National Action Network’s Measuring the Movement: Black Leadership’s 12-Month Action Plan special forum will feature leaders of constituencies across the country that will assess where we are today and the vision for the next 12-months for African-Americans. The session will focus on measurable action that federal, state and local governments and grassroots organizations can take to improve the quality of life for African-Americans, according to Rev. Sharpton. Some of the issues that will be addressed include education reform, unemployment, health care and more.

This event will air live nationally on TV One and as a special on MSNBC. Hosted by Tom Joyner and Roland Martin and will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 11-2:00 p.m. in conjunction with NAN’s Annual National Convention in New York City, April 14 -17, 2010 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers located at 811 7th Avenue @ 52 Street.
