“As I viewed the tape with ....America.... when it was first aired, obviously I was very troubled by what I saw. But since then, BART to its credit, as an organization before I was hired had two outside organizations come in and take a top-to-bottom review of the department and looked at...did an organizational assessment and made a number, number of recommendations that we’re currently undertaking; like use of force investigation. All use of force is now reported…have to be reported and reviewed in its entirety by the chief of police.”....

All I can say is this: The verdict was awful, the police officer had no business killing this young man. Who ever hired this guy needs better training. It makes no sense to me. No matter what this police chief says, until it actually happens to his son, he will never know the grief, hurt and pain this young man's family is going through. I am not sure why these rules and regulations, are JUST now being implemented. SMDH and so sad.

These kinds of events have become too common, since the removal of Civics studies in our public school systems and the distorting of liberal arts programs in institutions of higher education.

It's open season on minorities all over again. Over and over police get to do what they want and get away with it. A shame. No excuse for this officer or the dept.

I have been living in this Racist Socioeconomic Society for 52 years, therefore I am no longer surprised by Black On Black Crime or Police Brutality. I am not aware of the dynamics of this Case, but when it comes to evil and injustice, I am hardly a respecter of person. Normally when the Police arrive on the scene, the time for meaningful dialogue has passed. If I was a Police Officer, when I kiss my loveones goodbye, I would be determined to come home and kiss them goodnight. (catch my drift?) Somebody needs to inform these youngsters that unless they are willing and able to terminate the Officers existence, they need to "GO ALONG JUST TO GET ALONG." One of the most dangerous things known to Man is: "A PUNK WITH A GUN!" So sincere, Michael Sydney Perkins

After the Bart police officer kills a black man with his hands handcuffed and laying with his face in the dirt, the system allows this man (white) to get off on manslaughter charge, then another part of the system replaces the head of Barts police force with a black man, when are the people going to wake up and smell the BS? Blacks are allowed to have these positions, but only after something like this occurs. Man I am so sick of this killing, beating and abusing of blacks all over america, and all the white officers being allowed to getaway with murder.
