LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. October 2012-After 16 years of successful business in Anaheim, Blake's Place has recently opened its second location here. Owner Gene Hobel and Mike Rhodes, his partner at Los Alamitos, had been thinking of opening a new store and different areas were considered. "When we saw this place (formerly a fast food chicken vendor) was open, we jumped on it," Hobel says.
A friend of my received her Nuwave Oven a few days after ordering it from the infomercial, I was excited to see it up and cookin'. I had read a lot of Nuwave Oven reviews that suggested cooking various low fat meals in the appliance, but again, I don't always believe what I read. My friend decided to open up the handy Nuwave Oven complete cookbook (which surprisingly contains over 150 GREAT recipes). She found a few that stood out to her (She's a big "beef" fan) and made a shopping list for the grocery store!

The Corned roast beef brisket and Cabbage dinner is rather heavy, so I always serve a tossed salad and fresh vegetables. My husband is a big "BREAD" guy. I cheat on the bread with Saint Patrick's Day. It looks home made, because I always get a loaf from the bakery and just warm it up to go with dinner. For salad, my favorite dressing is (Paul) Newman's Own Oil & Vinegar. But to make the dinner special, try to have the dressing of choice for your guests. Another good one is the poppyseed dressing available in many popular brands.
Start with the celery, carrots and potatoes: layer them in the bottom of your crockpot. Next, lay in your corned pulled beef brisket. Cut the cabbage into wedges, and place it on top of the meat. Finally, add the water, corned pulled beef brisket seasoning packet, and pepper. Cover, and cook on low for 7-8 hours, until the meat is tender. It's important to allow the meat to set about 10-15 minutes before slicing. You can cover the meat with foil and place it in a warm area to keep it hot. This particular recipe will serve about 8 people, depending on portion size.
After done, shut down your fire, remove the barbequed brisket, and let it sit for 20 minutes. You will see where the brisket is divided into two pieces by a layer of fat.
