Going on a diet is one of the most popular, yet one of the most frustrating things you can ever do. What makes it so hard is that there are literally thousands of diets out there. Some are for long term weight loss, crockpot chicken tacos cilantro lime some only provide short term benefits. Part of the problem is that you don't really know which is which until you've spent your time, money, and effort. Usually to find out that they don't work as promised.

Lunch. Steam yellow summer squash, broccoli, and green beans. Sprinkle with fat-free, low-calorie Italian salad dressing and top with sliced, shredded crockpot shredded chicken.

Make the filling by combining a cup of cooked, shredded chicken, half a cup of cream cheese, quarter of a cup each of crumbled goat cheese, white wine and thinly sliced green onion with a teaspoon of dried oregano, half a teaspoon of dried thyme and some salt and black pepper. You can leave out the wine if you want. Divide the filling between the jalapeno halves and grill them for about six minutes, or until the bottoms begin to char, then serve them hot.

Forget the sodium-filled stuff in a jar; Mexican-style fresh homemade salsa has five times the taste, considerably more nutrients, and none of the "bad stuff." Chop up some of your own to use as a fat-free topping, and take advantage of one of the tastiest sources of lycopene around. At your favorite restaurant, use salsa as a healthy topping for just about anything, from tacos to enchiladas.

Prego, 2520 Amherst will be offering their Sunday brunch menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which features delicious egg dishes and other breakfast items, housemade pasta, wood-grilled meat, seafood, and more. The lunch/dinner menu will be served from 3 to 10 p.m. Reservations recommended.

We selected several items off of the dinner menu, which includes an option to build your own plate based on a handful meat selections- hot links (spicy sausage), pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket and rib tips. Prices for the plates range in price from $9.75 for one choice of meat, up to $15.75 for four.

Healthy fats are also important. A tablespoon of flax seed oil, olive oil, or fat found in salmon provide you with essential fats. Other healthy fats include nuts, peanut butter (in moderation), and the small amounts of fats found in the proteins and carbs mentioned above.

With a place where chicken should be the star, it's really their other dishes that shine. Maybe the sandwiches just aren't their bread and butter. Maybe their chicken plates are really where it's at. Whatever the reason might be, do not get their chicken sandwich. As a place that is described as Mediterranean cuisine, it might be best to stick with the dishes that stick closer to that style.
