Dark Corna' Records is an independent label standing strongly in the arena of the Hip-Hop cultural sounds. The crew consists of producers and writers who have experienced the joys and pains of life, and who are fully capable of painting memorable pictures in the form of music. Da Corna' stands mightily in its own right being born into the Hip-Hop nation under GOD for the soul purpose of creating meaningful expressions, whether it be Gospel, R&B, classical, commercial jingles, sound scores, or straight out raw Hip-Hop material. This universal organization is represented by minds inspired by the North, South, West, and East...Dark Corna Records is a complete unit providing new music tracks, lyrics, vocals, and arrangements. Experience the new sounds of Hip-Hop via Dark Corna Records, where its soilders are the "Unknown Prophets" of the Hip-Hop Nation...stop Hatin'.

Why this name?
I chose Cakkiman because I am a South Carolina man. This state is often referred to as South Cakki-laki, so it was natural for me to take on the name Cakkiman. Dark Corna' has a spiritual meaning. People often talk about "The Light", but remember, from "The Darkness", came "The Light", and musically speaking, I have always been in my "Corner", Thus Dark Corna'.

Do you play live?
Yes, Where-ever invited and we just love the lam light.If you hear a song you like call your radio station and make a request for it.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I feel that the internet gives "the little man" an opportunity to be heard. The playground is no longer being controlled by the bullies (the major labels). Gone are the days of being forced to listen to radio rotation formatted music, in which, most radio stations base their playlist on monetary gifts, and not on good quality songs.

Would you still sign a record contract with a major label?
Of Course, that would be great.

Band History:
I've been in the game for a minute now. I was born in Long Island, NY and later moved to the low country region of South Carolina.

My musical influences are Donnie Hathaway, New Edition, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Price, Spencer Washington, Mark Middleton, Tanya Goldsmith, Terri Hawkins, Eric Lambright, Melanie Daniels, Hezekiah Walker, Darryl Coley, Tonya Hawkins, Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Ray Charles, and many others.

Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is the Shadow Swamp (Dark Corna Studio).

We use all the latest technology, digital and analogue.

Anything else...?
Of course. We are masters at calming the beast within. Music is like mathematics, no beginning and no ending.
