The September Sistashood Town Hall Meeting (STHM) will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the auditorium of the Dollye Robinson School of Liberal Arts Building on the campus of Jackson State University beginning at 6:00 pm. We would very much like for you to join us, and be a part of this very important and historical event. There is no charge for attending, but the information shared and network connections made will be priceless to those looking to empower sistas to regain social respectability and self identity. This session of the Sistashood Town Hall Meeting series will be co-hosted by the JSU?s Pierian Literary Society, Kuumba Promos and That?s A Wrap - Personalized Gift Baskets.

Seating is very limited, and we are committed to planning the content of the session around those whom we are expecting as of Monday, September 8, 2008. The main topics of discussion will be the Challenges of Being a Strong African america Women; Relationship Challenges for African america Women - a male perceptive; Health Issues for African america Women; and Self Empowerment for African america Women - political influence. The most important part of the town hall meeting will the answering the submitted questions via the Q-cards surveys and the Summation/ Recommendations for community-level change to empower sistas. Our theme this session is ?Sistahood: Higher Learning equals a Higher Level of Sistahood?. If you are involved in or interested in Sistahood Empowerment Education from an African-centered perspective, then you truly need to be at this Sistahood Town Hall Meeting - Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the Liberal Arts Building on the campus of Jackson State University beginning at 6:00 pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

Future STHMs are scheduled for December as part of the Annual Community Kwanzaa Celebration and during Women?s History Month in March.
