Last night was surreal...This morning I find it hard to control my emotions because I realized it is real. The last time I went to bed after an election, I woke up only to find out we had a different president than I thought we had when I went to sleep. But this is real. There aren't many words that can explain the emotions that are going through millions upon billions of people. Individually I am sure we experienced a feeling of pride and joy in doing the right thing. As in, helping and old lady across the street, volunteer work or making a donation. And I'm sure we all experience a deeper sense of accomplishment and pride as a collective group doing the right thing. As in, Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, 9-11, etc. However this is different. When you live in a country that has had a history of "silencing" movements powered by minority groups... When you realize only 40 short years ago Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated... When you realize how certain people view black America (FOX News, BET and You tube)... When you realize only 45 short years ago blacks and whites could not drink from the same water fountain... When you realize the first face of leadership and power for children from the ages 6 years old to 12 years old is the face of Barack Obama... When you realize that the last 2 elections were stolen and not earned... When you realize that America has always preached "democracy" but certain sectors of America has never felt it... You then realize... In 2008, America has look towards a 47-year-old man named Barack Obama to lead this nation. A man with superb decision making skills, integrity, intelligence and fortitude... who just so happens to look like me. You then realize, the world is ready and millions of people have done the right thing. So yes, Michelle Obama, I hear you... "I've never been more proud of my country." Hundreds of nations worldwide had celebrations and rejoiced in America's new and true commitment to democracy. Russia applauded us. Germans, Greeks and Italians celebrated. People assembled in Africa and danced in the streets. Japan humbly tipped their hat. Our soldiers in Iraq prayed together. And right here in American we cried and shouted "Yes We Can." We, the people (truly), selected our President and the world's response was "America, you have done well." I never experienced a feeling like that. I am not ignorant enough to believe Obama as one man, is going To save the world or pull us out of this rut we are in, but Obama represents more than that. He represents a new infusion of self-pride. He represents will power. He represents a change in our behavior. He represents true democracy. He represents a "do something!" era. He represents unity. He represents cultural harmony. He represents accountability. He represents a new image of Black America. He represents a new image of AMERICA. Beyond this mans political platform and celebrity endorsements, he represents CHANGE. For decades, Generation X has lived in a dark cloud of hopelessness as we cling on to any image of progression and hope. Most of the images were short lived and lacked substance. Obama has helped removed that dark cloud, and presented himself as that person and then wisely put the weight back on our shoulders. He said, "Look at me. Here I stand before all of you as a living case study. Don't be scared to leap. Don't be scared to believe. Don't be scared to react. Do Something. Allow me to inspire YOU to make a change"...He's not a maverick; however he wants us all to be one. This is why I voted for Barack Obama... This is why today is more important then making history. Today begins with us. I believe Obama has the best decision making skills and leadership qualities to help lead us. I believe in Barack Obama... but even bigger than that.... he believes in us. Why I support Barack Obama: I was a teenager of the sixties who benefitted from the Civil Rights Movement by being one of the first African American women in my city government responsible for training residents in citizen participation . The "grassroots" process was the foundation for citizen involvement and engaging communities for the first time, in self government. Mr.& Mrs. Obama understand the American promise "...of the people, by the people, for the people." They complete the vision we embraced in the sixties.Firm Foundations Literary Ministry, LLCAtlanta, Georgia

Senator Obama I graduated from the University of Maryland's Graduate School of Management with a MS-MGMT. I would like to work on your campaign either in Michigan or the State that I chose to do my doctorate in (CA, WA, TX, PA, VA, or AR). My value is in being a generalist with specialist capabilities. For example, I worked on the TELL FAA Task Force enbanked to analyze the threat to our nation's national security at airports and aboard aircraft. Kenneth Peppard was the Director of the TELL FAA TASK FORCE and he Reported to Sec. of Transportation, Mineta, under whose auspices the FAA is subordinate to. My suggestion relative to electronic countermeasures (using communication technologies never employed before) can be viewed at this website: http://www.dot.gov/affairs/air craftsec.htm My idea is number 16 related to Transponders.I can be reached here on BP: Please have a staffer contact me with a way to follow back up by phone. I look forward to helping you gain the office of the POTUS. With Advance Gratitude,Burgess Foster, B.A., M.S.
