TIME FOR GOD Read only if you have time for God. Make sure you read all the way to the bottom. I almost deleted this email but I was blessed when I got to the end. When I received this e-mail, I thought...I don't have time for this... and, this is really inappropriate during work. Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is exactly what has caused lot of the problems in our world today. We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning...maybe Sunday night...and, the unlikely event of a midweek service. We do like to have Him around during sickness....and, of course at funerals. However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play because that's the part of our lives where we think we can, and should, handle it on our own. May God forgive me for ever thinking that there is a time or place where HE is not to be FIRST in my life. We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.. If you aren't ashamed to do this please follow the directions. Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.' Not ashamed? Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!! Yes, I do Love God. HE is my source of existence and Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I will be nothing. But I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Phil 4:13) This is the simplest test. If You Love God, and, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you, send this to all your contacts and the person who sent it to you! Now do you have the time to pass it on? Make sure that you scroll through to the end. Easy vs. Hard. Why is it so hard to tell the truth but yet so easy to tell a lie? Why are we so sleepy in church but right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up? Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones? Of all the free gifts we may receive, prayer is the very best one. There are no costs, but wonderful rewards... GOD BLESS! Note: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Isn't it funny how someone can say 'I believe in God' but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in God). Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing? Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them? Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. I pray for everyone who sends this to their entire address book, they will be blessed by God in a way special for them, and send it back to the person who sent it, to let them know that indeed it was sent out to many more.

Written by Haven contributor Tina FletcherAs a tennis player and avid fan of the Williams sisters, it’s been difficult to watch Serena come under fire for losing her cool during this year’s U.S. Open.The 27-year-old threatened a line judge on Sept. 12 after being penalized for a foot fault that allowed her opponent to win the match. Not just any match— a semifinals match, a step away from the championship.Serena was fined $10,5000 for behaving with “unsportsmanlike conduct” and for breaking her tennis racket during the match against Kim Clijsters, who won 6-4, 7-5. The incident is still under investigation, according to the International Tennis Federation.Serena’s actions have been compared to male athletes and politicians like Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) who shouted, ‘You lie’ to President Barack Obama during his address to Congress earlier this month. In my eyes, there is no comparison, especially since Wilson disrespected the president and our country. Although Serena was wrong for what she said, does she really deserve all the criticism? Serena is a role model who’s made several contributions on behalf of youth and women during her tenure as a tennis star.Some reporters and commentators have argued that Serena is being treated differently from male tennis athletes like John McEnroe and Roger Federer, who’ve been known to have an outburst or two on the court. Serena is being treated differently because she is a woman, and some say she should have acted like one during that match while others say Serena has received an extreme amount of criticism for an incident that has been blown way out of proportion.Tennis is an intense, competitive sport; ask ANYONE who’s ever played. It’s frustrating to lose a semifinal grand slam match over a foot fault. And sadly, it was later announced that the foot fault was a bad call. Yes, what she did and said was wrong, but I would hope that all who have criticized Serena will accept her apology and recognize that all players, male or female, get upset over bad calls. She made a mistake, apologized, and should be forgiven.As black women, it’s important for us to have role models like Serena portrayed in a positive light. So let’s get back to all that she’s accomplished. Serena created a school in Matooni, Kenya, has received awards for her work with breast cancer awareness, and also works with at-risk youth as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. She’s a winner of several grand slam singles and doubles titles, and she consistently gives back to the community, sharing her integrity and dedication with the world. In Christ we are anointed and powerful people of God We are a joint heir with Jesus and more than a conqueror. We are doers of the word of God and a channel for His blessings. If God be for us , who can be against us? We are blessed our coming in and we are blessed going out. Our enemies are fleeing before us. God has commanded his blessing on our storehouses. He has opened his good treasures and we shall lend and not borrow. We are the head and not the tail. He has given us power to make wealth. We dwell in the secret place we have his protection and provision. God is our refuge, our fortress we are not afraid of the snare of the fowler. No evil shall befall us and no plague shall come nigh our dwelling. God has given his angels charge over us and they are bearing us up in their hands Lest we dash our foot against a stone as declared in Psalms 91. I Peter 2:9 establishes I am a chosen generation A royal priesthood, a holy nation. I am a peculiar person called out of darkness into his marvelous light. I am without spot or blemish, an intercessor, the righteousness of God, Saved, and washed in the Blood of Jesus. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their Righteousness is from Me, says the Lord. I am saved from wrath by him and justified by the Blood of the Lamb.
