Producer/MC President of Smashmouth Hip-Hop In the "here today, gone today" music industry we know that those challenges are amplified in a way that truly separates the haves from the have-nots. Out of the countless individuals trying to breakthrough the invisible wall surrounding the industry, there is one artist that asks the question? "Can A Brother Ever Love Life's Ever Rising Obstacles." The aforementioned quote is not only a valiant question but is also an acronym for the Producer/Artist known as Cabellero. Instead of battling the many obstacles set before him, he has mastered the art of embracing those obstructions in order to conquer them. The self-proclaimed Golden Boy of the southwest side of D.C. Cabellero is on a relentless mission to bring status on hip-hop's ever-spreading map. This multifaceted artist is adding to his many accomplishments with the creation of Smashmouth Hip-Hop as not only a sound, but also a independent entertainment company. By providing cross promotion and exposure to independent artists through marketing & distribution of the ever so popular mixtape series, "DC vs. The Music Industry" giving independent artists the chance to build fan bases, gain exposure while pushing the music themselves. He also doubles as The Alias DJ C-Money hosting the mixtapes. In a world where the prognosis of hip-hop is debatable (is it dead? is it on life support? does it need an organ transplant?) a maverick comes along to present his argument. Producer turned rapper Cabellero might just be the person to play superhero to hip-hop's new damsel in distress persona. No, he can't leap tall buildings in a single bound, nor can he outrun a speeding train. He can however, create phenomenal beats. Cabellero has a flow reminiscent of a simpler time. A time when gas prices weren't equivalent to your monthly salary and hip-hop could fend for itself and didn't need saving; it saved all of us. Now, Cabellero is here to regulate (he should probably make drop by Wall Street as well). With his website and endless streams of mix tapes, he is ready to challenge the status quo. Not since N.E.R.D has an acronym put us in such deep thought. Cabellero`s acronym is, Can A Brother Ever Love Life's Ever Rising Obstacles? Well can he? The rhapsodic emcee spent his teenage years on the southwest side of Washington DC. Much like a certain Son of Krypton, Cabellero chose an epithet when doing his life's work. In the early 90's when he began his journey into the world of mix tape production Cabellero worked under the name Youngblood. In 1996 he took on the role of record label owner when he developed Green Leaf Records. Instead of donning a stuffy suit and laboring at The Daily Planet, Cabellero doubles as DJ C-Money for his DC vs. The Music Industry mix tape series. He uses these mixtapes as a platform "for Independent artists to showcase their music and build fan bases outside of their region". We all know the creed, Truth Justice and the American way, but Mr. Cabellero has a list of creeds that are all his own and he doesn't need to be invincible to enforce them.
