Black Women in particular need to realize that the stats are against us. A lot of our men are either gay, on the DL, in jail, which leaves the men that are in our communities and consider themselves as heterosexual men knowing their odds are 18-24 Black Women to every one Black Man, and since Black Women are more prone to stay within their race, we endure abuse, manipulation, numerous STDs including HIV/AIDS and everything associated with being with a Black Man THAT has the 18-24 mentality.... We are acquiring a disease to which there is no known cure for at alarming rates. It is estimated that every 10 minutes a new person is being infected with the HIV virus.
