Greetings BP!!

I'm a writer with an eclectic body of work in several different genres. I write about Business, Self Help, Travel, Parenting, Romance and where I live Brooklyn, NY. My varied interests--and the volatile economies I've lived through--have lead me to be a true believer in multiple streams of income. To work in several fields means you have to be a master project manager, stress manager, time manager, etc.

I love to explore, however, I'm more of an armchair tourist. Like the line in the movie Namesake, that's what books are for so you can travel the world without moving an inch. The internet is my second home and websites like books allow me to explore without actually leaving Brooklyn.

I've learned so much from the internet. How to self-publish and market a novel, how to write a confession, how to freeze tofu before you cook it so it comes out firm instead of mushy, and how to get from an airport in Kansas City to a local hotel using public transportation. I've even taken virtual tours of Lake Minnewaska and the Catskill Mountains online while listening to Vanessa Williams sing: "if you walk the footsteps of a stranger you'll learn things you never knew." The internet has given me an appreciation of photography and visuals that either I just recently developed or was lying dormant while I focused on the written word.

I'm a city girl now tho I'm originally from suburban, Pennsylvania. I'm also a mother, a wife and a student of spirituality, history, sociology and many other disciplines. I'm always motivated to learn, grow and evolve. I wake up everyday eager to get to work. Productivity is my internal guiding principle. I love to collect accomplishments and check things off to-do lists. As a non-driver in New York City I either walk, take a bus or train everywhere I go. Soon I'll post pictures of my favorite places.

Because I walk, it's guaranteed that I'll exercise at least 20 minutes every day and public transportation is great for the environment. My first job after college was as a writer with a transportation institute in Pennsylvania and now two of my favorite websites are the American Public Transportation Association and Walkscore.com. I'm thinking about how I can return to writing about public transportation as part of the ongoing awareness campaigns to go green.

I have varied goals which include learning more about writing and managing web content, getting another degree (maybe), taking the children to Paris before they graduate from high school and traveling to every city in this country that I can explore without a car. I love romantic movies, especially foreign films and plan to attend more film festivals, both local and national, so I can write about the experiences.
