The world famous Apollo Theater is so much more than a historic landmark - it is a source of pride and a symbol of the brilliance of American artistic accomplishment. With its rich history and continued significance, the Apollo Theater, considered the bastion of African-American culture and achievement, is one of the most fascinating chronicles in American history.

It all started in 1914 when the theater was constructed on 125th Street, the heart of Harlem. Originally, it was named Hurtig and Seamon's New Burlesque Theatre and African-Americans were not allowed in the audience. In 1934: Ralph Cooper, Sr. decided to do a live version of his already popular radio show, Amateur Nite Hour at the Apollo , at the Apollo Theater, then owned by the Schiffman family. Ella Fitzgerald, who invented the vocal technique known as "SCAT", was one of the first Amateur Night winners. That same year, Cooper, Benny Carter and "16 Gorgeous Hot Steppers" dazzled the crowds with the theater's first "Colored Revue."

Then in 1935, Bessie Smith made her Apollo debut followed by an unknown vocalist by the name of Billie Holiday who graced the Apollo stage and mesmerized the audience with her undeniable style and talent. Soon thereafter, the Apollo Theater quickly became known the place "Where Stars are Born and Legends are Made" and "home" to thousands of major performance artists, fans, and patrons of the arts from around the world. The legendary venue has launched the careers of icons such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, James Brown and Lauryn Hill and continues to maintain its position as the nation's most popular arena for emerging and established African-American and Latino performers.

"Outside the context of the death penalty, the Supreme Court has generally allowed states to decide for themselves what punishments fit what crimes. But the court barred the execution of juvenile offenders in 2005 by a vote of 5 to 4, saying that people under 18 are immature, irresponsible, susceptible to peer pressure and often capable of change."
a quote from the NY Times today.
so,easy question.
If "people under 18 are immature, irresponsible, susceptible to peer pressure and often capable of change," how can they be used to testify against you? Susceptible to peer pressure; including friends, parents, a child psychologist, a overzealous prosecutor who doesn't want to lose a case so he can keep his office or run for reelection?
This is coming from the Supreme Court, our highest court? Read the article on juveniles in Florida. 77 of the 100 in the world are in Florida? America is a prison factory, class. Are you truly free? What does your freedom mean? Would you be willing to die for it? What are you willing to die for? How about killing for it? Or are you killing someone for the United States to control oil, (Iraq) a politician,( Karzai) a trade route, (Kuwait), or a drug trade?(Afghanistan)
This country has the most people in prison. It makes money! Why is California letting prisoners go free? Because it is broke, one of the top 10 largest economic states in THE WORLD is broke, and it can't make any taxmoney off taxpayers, (because they're broke too) so it has to let prisoners go. Again, America is a prison factory.
What percentage of the prisons are private? Almost 2%. The scandal in the Iraqi prison? A private prison whose owner was BARRED in the United States to own a prison because of the way he treated American prisoners. Let me repeat that, barred, not allowed, to run a prison in the United States because of how he treated United States of American citizens who are incarcerated. Yes, they are still citizens.
But who cares, right? They deserve they're punishment. They commited a crime. They where pointed out in a line-up. A line-up has also been found to be severely questionable, but still used. What? Yes, how many rape convictions, until the DNA test, were used to convict free men? The black guy did it.
Let's look at our country and what we do to punish people. Let's look at our country, and see who we punish. If I rob a bank, I'm facing 7- 25 years. Goldman Sacs does inside trading, crashes the country, creates instability for national security, given your tax payer dollars, and no one gets investigated? The FBI, the FEDERAL Burea of Investigations, according to both the IBD and the Wallstreet Journal found no wrong doing last December?
And we are the country to be looked up at? Let's show the world we are, get this administration to prosecute these bankers. But it won't happen, why? Because these bankers paid bith the Democrats and the Republicans.
class dismmissed.

The REAL reason why we are in Afghanistan,
why we support Musharaff in Pakistan,
so India can have energy. Send Indian troops then, the war is so India can have natural gas? And the pipeline goes through the Taliban's backyard?

The Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline (TAP or TAPI) is a proposed natural gas pipeline being developed by the Asian Development Bank. The pipeline will transport Caspian Sea natural gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan into Pakistan and then to India. Proponents of the project see it as a modern continuation of the Silk Road. The Afghan government is expected to receive 8% of the project's revenue.

The original project started in March 1995 when an inaugural memorandum of understanding between the governments of Turkmenistan and Pakistan for a pipeline project was signed. In August 1996, the Central Asia Gas Pipeline, Ltd. (CentGas) consortium for construction of a pipeline, led by Unocal was formed. On 27 October 1997, CentGas was incorporated in formal signing ceremonies in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan by several international oil companies along with the Government of Turkmenistan. In January 1998, the Taliban, selecting CentGas over Argentinian competitor Bridas Corporation, signed an agreement that allowed the proposed project to proceed. In June 1998, Russian Gazprom relinquished its 10% stake in the project. Unocal withdrew from the consortium on 8 December 1998.

The new deal on the pipeline was signed on 27 December 2002 by the leaders of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.[1] In 2005, the Asian Development Bank submitted the final version of a feasibility study designed by British company Penspen. Since the United States military overthrew the Taliban government, the project has essentially stalled; construction of the Turkmen part was supposed to start in 2006, but the overall feasibility is questionable since the southern part of the Afghan section runs through territory which continues to be under de facto Taliban control.

On 24 April 2008, Pakistan, India and Afghanistan signed a framework agreement to buy natural gas from Turkmenistan.[2]

[edit] Route
The 1,680 kilometres (1,040 mi) pipeline will run from the Dauletabad gas field to Afghanistan. From there TAPI will be constructed alongside the highway running from Herat to Kandahar, and then via Quetta and Multan in Pakistan. The final destination of the pipeline will be the Indian town of Fazilka, near the border between Pakistan and India.[3]

[edit] Technical features
The pipeline will be 1,420 millimetres (56 in) in diameter with a working pressure of 100 atm.[3] The initial capacity will be 27 billion cubic meter (bcm) of natural gas annually of which 2 bcm will be provided to Afghanistan and 12.5 bcm to both Pakistan and India. Later the capacity will increase to 33 bcm.[4] Six compressor stations are to be constructed along the pipeline.[3] The pipeline is expected to be operational by 2014.[5]

The cost of the pipeline is estimated cost at US$7.6 billion.[2] The project is to be financed by the Asian Development Bank.[6]

You are So Powerful
You are so powerful...

This morning when you awoke you made a choice, the first thought in your head became your choice. how you percieved , intereperted and reacted to that thought was your choice . You choose, you chose , it was a sub-concious concious decision unbeknowst to you.
When the thought was developing in your brain you reacted automatically the way you do most often. The point at which the thought is percieved determines the emotional outcome.
In order to control your thought process you must first slow down your process of perception in regards to your thoughts. How you percieve and process the data that fills your brain as a result of past, present and future events is in all actuality a choice. I am happy today because I choose to be. I lay comfortably in the bosom of my Father and his will knowing that it's all good because it's all God. Your perception is key, some people view the greatest event of all time as the most tragic. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Bottomline, it was a great Idea because My Great God came up with it. He knew that by having his son crucified he would bless the good and curse the evil, my Father is brilliant.
I can only dream to be as great as my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the way he took all of that pain, the way he suffered honorably for our sins. A champion for all. Rejoice I said for the will of the Father is being done.Don't get struck down for grumbling against the will of the Father like the hebrew isralites when moses lead them out of captivity. Rejoice I said.
Choose, make a concious choice to be happy, to except your Father's will and move forward . Apply positive actions to your faith and watch as the mountains move. Oh my God, You are so powerful.
